We went through the first encounter with the mindflayer ship tutorial and the game autosaved five times in the first hour, getting us used to the autosave. Then we proceeded to meet 4 different NPCs, went through multiple instances and encounters, leveled up, took short rests and long rests, spent the night in camp, went through multiple extended dialogues with all the NPCS, and the game did not autosave once over those next three hours. There is no way to modify the autosave settings.
