When I started the game a few days ago I start out in the Nautiloid; but it is in Avernus...Is this correct? I thought I was supposed to start in a Forest or something? I head west and come out to a fiery gap in ramp leading out and there was a Dragon flying by and below I could see Rocky plains with fire and a river. I can't seem to find a passage anywhere to this place "Us" is talking about called "Helm"? (Aboard the Nautiloid). Maybe in this game you are supposed to visit Avernus but should I start off flying through the first plane of Hell? May be a bug but I can't be sure; Not great with techie stuff....Thanks in advance...P.S. if this is correct...Could someone give me clues as what to do to get to this "Helm" area....I don't mind a spoiler.

You accidentally went to hell and you need to get out.

I don't understand? How and why did this happen? And how do I get out? Should I start over?

You can jump the gap in the path where the dragon is seen flying by.

Make sure you're following the tutorials in that map, it should lead you to where you need to go. If somehow there is option to turn it off you should turn it back on. It explains how to jump etc.

^ this

The intro cinematics should explain the basics of how you may have ended up on the Nautiloid and why you're currently in hell.

The helm of any ship (sea or air) would we the place from which you'd steer the ship. So when they say you need to get to the helm, it's because they want (you) to take control of the ship and get it moving.

Ok...So it's part of the story then...Very well. I'll try what you guys suggest. I thought it might be some kind of Bug but was'nt sure....I figured maybe descending into Avernus is part of the game but maybe a little early for that and it mightbe a bugged game or whatnot. I'm used to Bioware controls and BG 1&2. Not familiar with any Larian games. Thanks alot for your replies.....😊
