I've updated my drivers, restarted the computer, I've put it in DX11 mode, I'm using a GTX 1080 FTW card and I don't think it's the issue. I've gotten to a point in the game where I've gone to camp after a large battle in Act 1, I've exhausted all dialogue with all NPC's around me. But when I activate the bed roll or the fire to turn in for the night, the game crashes. Doesn't matter how long I've been in game, it happens every time without fail. I've gotten creative and tried with other characters. My wizard still has mage armor active, as well as Web (concentration). I've spent time trying to figure out how to end concentration and it appears the only way is to concentrate on another spell, so I activated Mage hand, and the game immediately crashes. It was also doing it in the battle every time I tried to cast witch bolt, so I feel like it could very well be a problem tied to spells.

Any thoughts? Currently I am unable to progress further while this is an issue so It is keeping me from playing altogether.

1080 is a good card, what is your CPU?

An older AMD that was near the best you could get 5-6 years ago. I wonder if that's the issue.

Edit: it's an AMD FX(tm) 8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.50 GHz

It definitely can't be your GPU, so that CPU must be bottlenecking your performance. Have you tried reducing the graphics? Higher GPUs *can* do Maximum settings, but atm I think it's more stable to reduce to High or lower.

I just reduced to medium, removed shadows, bloom, and just cut almost everything I can. Still crashed as soon as the screen went dark. It may be something with the game. I'm going to try reinstalling it.

Was it a new game too or an old save?

Doubt its graphics I have a very similar problem on stadia. After a little more testing it appears to be specific to some event. I stared a new game and do not have this issue, but with my old game it happens every time I camp, even if I revert to earlier saves. Seems to jave started right after I saved the Tieflings, possible something to do with their party event?

That's the exact spot I'm at. I've experimented a little, and I've found a few things that cause an immediate crash:

1. Trying to rest for the night.
2. Casting another concentration spell (have one active). Non concentration don't give any issues.
3. I tried to fall ~10m to take damage and end a concentration spell. The game crashed the moment he hit the ground.

There are different possibilities that lead to this. Take a look at the 2 on the left, there are 2 problems with items that lead to the game Crash. There are more of them. It would be helpful to know what the last quest was and what you did before camp?

what you can still try is load the save points and save them again do not overwrite them create a new save point. Then quit the game that is best done with those who you think are important. Then delete the old ones and also clean up the quick save points. no more like 15, best only 3-5 pcs too much crash the game too. Have experienced a lot in my 293 hours. If you have any further questions, just get in touch
