Hey guys great work on the game really enjoying jt. I agree with some other posts that the action bar is pretty hard to use, for my two cents I think that the different spell levels and items should be represented by different tabs or in some way grouped. Maybe even just splitting spells from items into this sort of system and leaving items as they are would work - after all items and spells are not the same thing so why group them together?

I use spells much more often than items so it'd be handy if I knew where they were. Currently I'm not sure how, but i have a few mixed low level spells and cantrips at the beginning, then a few second level spells, then a load of random items like apples and shuff that I don't care about and then I just realised if I scroll down I have a few more 1st level spells that I didn't even know about!

Okay so I could tidy this up myself, but I can't be bothered, also in the knowledge that if I change my spells on rest they'll probably be put at the end again. Generally with a set of 20 small icons is pretty hard to pick out the spell you want amongst all the apples.

The way I think in battle is something like "okay I need to do something here, I have 1 2nd level spell slot left - what do I have... Hmm okay nothing that really works in this situation, let me check my items.."

So in summary although i enjoy the freedom offered by having all items and spells in a single customisable bucket, it would make my life easier if i could always find my spells in the same place and somehow categorised by level

One thing I do that helps with my hotbar, is to go into gameplay settings and go to the hotbar settings. It lets you customize which things are added automatically. I personally turn off everything besides spells, which means that only new spells i learn are added to my hotbar.

I haven't seen a hotkey for it yet, but in DOS they had the R and F keys scroll in between your hotbars. This let you group your different kinds of spells onto say, my melee damage spells or my utility spells. Once it's implemented, I feel like a decent way to group your spells would be to put 1st Level spells and major consumables on your first hotbar, and then use your other hotbars for corresponding spell levels.

I would like to see the hotbars sorted by type (one for spells, one for scrolls, etc). Really, though, we don’t need everything available down there. If they would just auto organize our backpacks we can just put the most used stuff on the action bar and just activate the rest from a neatly organized inventory.

There is an auto sort feature in the inventory, but it's not in a very obvious spot. At the top of the inventory screen and a bit on the right, there's a button that let's you autosort by type, weight, or a couple other options. It will be nice if they make it a little more obvious though.

Just realized you probably meant a backpack you'd pickup and not your full on inventory. I already typed it out though so I'll leave the tip in case anyone was unaware. That would be a really cool feature.
