In the Zhentarim hideout, I walked in to Rugan being bound and Zarys being poised to blow things up, and all Zhents other than Zarys aggressive in the back of the area.
I didn't get the cutscene that set this up that I've seen others mention. I had talked Rugan into splitting the money, but hadn't opened the chest.
I killed Zarys before she could fire (pushed her down then shot)
Now (more?) problems come up:
Talking to Rugan and freeing him doesn't clear his being restrained (which assumedly it should) or do anything else for that matter, beyond the single voice line.
Can't actually talk to Oskar at all. Shoving Rugan made Oskar flee, then calm down and talking DID work.
Killing all the other Zhents does not complete Oskar's quest (as one assumes it should?) and he still wants you to talk to Brem (who is dead).
Tried both initiating Oskar's quest both before and after killing the Zhents, neither resolved it.
Didn't have the option to check if talking to Brem could have finished it because Brem was hostile on loading into the area.
