I never tested 1.42 to see if this would happen there too, but... When I exit Act I and enter Act II under 1.43, my "unique" items change names, for example, the lucky cap I got from the skull changes its name to "Skull Reward". Its attribute bonuses still work though.

I began this game under 1.42, BTW.

Oh and while I'm at it, another plea to: (1) let us redefine our screen-scrolling keys (default = the arrow keys), and (2) give us a "select all" button for the inventory tabs

i think some of the latent bugs like that are related to games in progress before 1.4x patched up through current patches. i don't have that issue with a new game started in 1.42.

As I mentioned, my game is a new game started with 1.42.

My guess is that this isn't a bug, but when you applied the patch, it didn't take immidiate effect. In other words: the patch copies a few updated files into your BD directory, but doesn't interfere with your savegames.

When you got to Act2, the game had to "reorganize" your inventory, because that's simply what it does after every act. It deletes all info about Act1, and creates new files for Act2. During this process your weapon name changed to what it was meant to be called in 1.43.

Just a theory...

ooops. i lied <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> doh! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> sorry about that. it is the same: skull reward. that's what it was called in the demo.been that way as of beginning of act 2 .
