So as a general feedback point about the arcane tower.

I have absolutely no clue wtf im supposed to be doing here. No clue.

The lights need some form of magic to operate. I tried casting light on it. It lights them up but not in the normal manner. Ive tried casting different spells at them as well, does nothing.

I found the chest with the boost and equipped them. Doesent seem to be doing anything either.

Ive seen some round shapes on the floor and I tried placing things ontop of those as well in the hopes that it does something. Again, does nothing.

A little mystery is fine but at least give some hint to the player what theyre supposed to be doing around the area.

There's a quest to go there and pick up some things.

Secondly there's a trick to opperating the elevator, which is in the cellar of the tower, the hint is the items on the ground around it.

(You can get to the cellar by jumping outside).

Beyond the quest there really doesn't seem to be any actual point to it (yet), although there's lots of secrets in there.

I quite enjoy the tower.

Well, you just need to look on the floor near the machinery downstairs. There are some used 'components' left here and there. But the one you have to use must be fresh. A hint: you don't need to go very far to find some.

Then when you finally activate it, you should explore every floor before getting to the top. The wizard who owned it was a very literate person.

I really like this location. When you activate it, it creates a beautiful vista in the heart of the underdark.

I think the wizard who operated the tower is dead, I read in one of the journals how she went to tame a Bulette. I found a dead body where my party commented about Bulette trails, so I assumed she died :P.

I don't know if she's dead or not, but it has a good staff up.

the tower is awesome. if you take the time and read all the lore thats lying around, it really sucks you in, i think. there are also some cool magical items and, frankly, it just looks amazing.

Yea had the quest from the mindflayer, which is why I was in the tower to begin with. Did manage to jump down to a lower level but dident see a good way to jump to the ground floor.

Il give that a go, thanks.

Oh the tower has been the highlight of my time with BG3. It's a pretty fun yet easy to solve "puzzle". Getting into it, figuring out how to operate it and all the deeper stuff.

Just take your time going through it once you get inside. Even getting inside is pretty obvious if you take your time to look around. Didn't take very long and I'm rather inattentive. It's good stuff but I also like mystery so I was glued to my screen in the tower.

Getting inside wasent really a puzzle, but ive only gotten the 'top' 2 floors and dident see the butom floor one yet. Sounds like the solution to the puzzle is there.

Well that was about an hour of my time wasted xD

So to get to the bottom
Find some giant mushrooms growing outside. Jump onto them. Then keep jumping from one mushroom cap to the other until you get to the bottom floor of the tower. You'll have to jump onto the tower and then into the yard of the bottom floor itself. Theres a non puzzle with turning on the power but its super simple, and then the same with getting to the basement where basically all the ingredients you need are.

As for where the ingredients are:
You can get a ring on the top floor after you get to the top. Easy enough to avoid the fight if you read all the plays and reply properly. More fun too. Just equip ring and get in the lift. A new button will appear press that.

Be prepared to be teleported under the platform because this happens 100% of the time for me. 1 party member always ends up stuck under the terrain and you need to jump out or have your party use the lift again since it will teleport the stuck member with them. Thus getting them out.

Yeah managed to get myself to the buttom. Overlooked a part ofthe terrain, thought there was a gap when there wasent one to explain it quikly.

Tower was a fun experience overall but it was frustrating that you needed to go to the buttom first to unlock it all. Once you unlock the acces to it he area opens up abit more. Fun lore and reading in here smile Hopr we can combine all the broken machine machinery in the final game to make a construct or something. They seem to be different parts as some look like limbs and other torso etc

Honestly finding the way down is more of a matter of observation. I got a bit stuck on the entrance before I just moved my camera and went "huh that looks a bit sus" and did some jumping. There's a lot of jumping stuff you need to do to reach rather interesting side quest so makes sense.

Yeah they left a bunch of books, poems, etc about her. The commands you can give to the droids, and then there were notes about her I want to say in the zhent camp and the guys in myconid colony also know her. Quite the story behind lenore and how she ended up going about her pursuits. Little sad ;(

What is the problem you are solving? Does your proposed change solve the problem? Is your change feasible? What else will be affected by your change? Will your change impact revenue? Does your change align with the goals and strategies of the organizations (Larian, WotC)?

Has anyone figured out what the button at one window of the tower, that 'supposedly doesn't do anything' does?

If you wear the dog collar, it dispenses some food for you! ;D
(You can find the collar on a grave in the underdark)

You need to turn on the generator in the basement - jump down using the mushrooms, pick Sussur Flowers from the tree and place them in the generator.

They give you the ability to cast Feather Fall, I raised a bug report regarding the item description.

They are just decoration.
