Hey there,

I figure making 1 big post with all my feedback all in 1 place was a better idea then making alot of posts for all the seperate topics smile

So where to begin.... Il just describe how I went about things first and then make seperate lists for the seperate types of feedback. Basicly I just started playing and whenever I ran into something that dident work or seems like its out of place I would note it down. In some cases I made a save and tried multiple approaches to see if the results were the same or if they varied. For some cases (like the Nettie dialogue) I tried to see how long it would take me to succeed by quikloading and trying again until I suceed to see the end result. In the Nettie example above I tried succeeding for over an hour and just gave up. Thats an hour of quikloading and trying again at a single conversation and failling.... I had a podcast playing to keep me entertained but that part really needs a rewrite! Eventually I reached the Underdark and explored all the quests there and then doubled back and did the same for the mountain approach.

Considering im a pathological hoarder in the best of times it took me a good amount of time to realize that crafting wasent in the game yet and basicly was sitting on a massive hoard of (potential) crafting materials and had spend a few hours running around examing every nook and cranny, bringing everything along with me because 'it might be usefull' which also caused me to spend alot of time on inventory management. In case anyone is wondering, I think 1/3 of my playtime was spend on looting, roaming around trying out to find a use for those items, finding vendors to sell trash to and overall derping about with mechanics that (probably) arent in the game yet. Wait why did this become so ranty? crazy

Heres the list in chronocial order as I wrote it down. Il make summaries in the 2nd post.

-Conversation with Nadira triggers twice. My guess is because I clicked on her and because shes supposed to trigger it herself? Gave me the soulcoin the first time and second time said that she was pickpocketed. That was kind of funny but it stood out that it triggered twice.
-Bugbears universally seem to lack the 'empty' tag when looted. Some other monsters that ive seen to have this as well, like the gnoll Flint warleader that you find in the mountains.
-Findel has very long pauses in the conversation for some reason.
-Cutscenes as a whole seem to be very buggy with the camera not behaving, random NPC's strolling to stand in between the conversation and simular stuff like that.
-Dialogue about Spike after leader surrendered. Wyll replies as if the Goblin died in battle.
-Fight with guts is incredibly hard. The amount of Goblins with double Hp, class levels, etc is just TO much. I had convinced the Ogres to be mercenaries for me but honestly have no clue how I would have managed to pull this fight off without it.
-Basement with the wizard room behind the mirror. I could move through the mirror. I dident notice that you could talk to it before I had already completely looted the entire room while you are supposed to talk to him to open it first.
-Camera in the wizard room under the abandoned villaga kept tripping balls. It kept zooming in and out at a very rapid pace as if it was trying to give me seizures or something. Rotating the camera also seemed to be very frowned upon as that in particular seemed to have some serious issues....
-XP gained from kills seems to be INSANELY low compared to what XP the kills should give by dnd standards. A normal (8hp) goblin for example should give 50XP. A phase spider should give 700xp etc.
-Speaking of Phase spiders. Phase spiders DO NOT teleport. They phase in and out of the material plane. The lore behind them is that people have the false belief that they teleport because they can appear out of nowhere. They also dont have a poison spit but a very poisenous bite that causes paralysis. The encounter right before the spider queen (as I call her) could work just fine if they appear invisible to the player and suddenly appear out of nowhere rather then sitting in the back spitting poison. It would be true to lore and still make for a challenging and interesting fight.
-The game doesent pause when you press esc. It keeps running in the background which imo shouldnt happen. Now you have to namnually press turn based mode if you dont want the world to keep advancing while you are nosing through the game settings.
-The silence spells seems to be broken. It silences the player alright but all NPC's that ive tried it on (or some that causes the silence dome ontop of their OWN head) dont seem to be effected by it. At all. Clerics can also use their channel diviniity ability which im not sure if thats intended? Its technicly not spellcasting and all but still. Also, it doesent seem to effect character's speach at all. Silence doesent silence anybody outside of the player....
-AI uses sleep spell against enemies that have to high HP to be effected by it? Potential bug?
-The necromancer's book (even when selecting Gale) has an option to give the book to Gale. But it doesent do anything? Option to give it to gale does work if your PC is selected though.
-Not a crash per se, but after the shapeshifted druid (Halsin) burst through the bars in the goblin camp the screen turned black for me. Like, totally. I could still press buttons and I heard the sounds associated with the things that I was pressing, but the screen stayed black. Had to alt tab and close the game and go back in to fix it.
-The hag glitched out for me. She wouldnt turn hostile and we couldnt enter in combat. But I could keep hitting her until she died. Very anticlimatic wink
-Connor stayed on the beach if you let his wife drag his zombie arse out of there. She dissapears but he was still standing on the beach.
-Mud Mephits have a ranged attack of opportunity? Not to mention the ranged attack itself that the MM doesent mention it has. On the flipside, its also missing abilities that its supposed to have.
-Fire bottles, bloodstones, our mind and ball are missing their own icon and seem to have some form of placeholder art.
-I had the 'rescue the druid Halsin' quest not triggering completion before the scene at camp happend. Not sure if thats intentional?
-I tried jumping down (with featherfall) pretty much every gap in the goblin camp to see if it would bring me to the underdark. Given the proximity to the ruined village I figured that should be a possibility but it isent. I also knocekd 1 of the Goblin leaders (the drow) down the hole and basicly was looking for her body the entire time but never found it because they dont seem to be connected frown missed her loot (if any) that way which was a shame.
-The cut scene at the camp where the Thieflings celebrate seemed to be completly broken. Also the text for Volo's song was filled through my entire screen rather then coming line by line. Made it very awkward and painfull to watch. There also was no instrument or music playing which seemed odd as hes playing an instrument?
-Gale mentioned that he was glad how good I took the fact that he eats artifacts dispite him never even mentioning this in dialogue?
-Hook horror fight in the underdark. Where to begin. This fight is insane. They can jump absolutely INSANE distances (longer distances then my spell distances which seem to be 18 meters), can then do multiple attacks and seem to have some oform of aoe knockdown or something? A normal Hook Horror without all of this additional fluff is still a DC3 monster, never mind that there are 4 of them and a Drow wizard joins them right as combat starts. If you dont manage to kill them at a pace of 1 per turn you will get absolutely crushed. I dident find this fight fun or engaging and while I managed to win it eventually without losing someone this encounter needs a serious overhaul. The encounter also has no reward to speak off. Unless the quest item nearby and fast travel points are supposed to be the reward? A overhaul is required, in my opinion.
-Speaking of insane fights in the Underdark. The Minotaur fight is INSANE. I saw them move effectively TWO HUNDRED feet in 1 turn (equcated guess when comparing the distance that they moved compared to my spell distance), including a charge attack amongst that. What. The actual. Fuck? They are fast(ish) at 40 feet but this is borderline insane. Tthey have multiattack (which they shouldnt have), can do an AOE knockdown alongside that and are resistant to damage to put a cherry ontop. The fight wasent hard actually, I ran into them when I almost out of spells and aside from using some consumables which I normally wouldnt have needed to do I actually managed to win the fight the first time I ran into them. I think its because they give you advantage on all attacks against them so hitting them was incredibly easy. That said, these monsters are doing things that they arent supposed to be capable of doing and its almost parody levels of silly.
-I very often have to click mutliple times. I want to click on a different teamte to move around with him. *click* huh, that dident work. Let me try again. Ok, now it works. Uh. Ok. Want to consume a potion in action bar. Oops did you click that? Im sure you madfe a mistake. Better click it again or it wont do anything. Very annoying and doesent always happen which makes it even more confusing. But it happens enough that after a few hours I get sick and tired of it
-The Mycanoid 'king' that tags along with you to kill the duergar has a broken spell. His haste cloud will effect characters in it. But iff you move out of the cloud, and then back in again you again get an additional action. You can repeat this as many times as in a turn as you got the movement to move in and out of the cloud.
-Robick when talking during a cutscene you dont see his mouth moving. Name could be wrong though, cant read my own handwriting lol.
-Shade mesh bound ability item seems to missing its own ability icon. (could be messing up some of the naming here. Cant read half of the handwriting)
-Gale seems to be freezing up alot. He seems to be the only character effected by it but ive seen him T-pose and zoom around as if he has wheels under his feet. Ohter times he just wont use his ability anymore. Saving and then loading works to fix it but it often bugs up in the middle of combat.
-Bulette imo needs a redisgn as well. The monster is borderline insane. Fact that he retreats multiple times is already quite anooying but his opening move can have your entire party knocked prone giving him a very nasty round of suprise buttsecks if he gets to go before your guys do. His AOE slam does ALOT of damage and coupled with his attacks make fighting him exceptionally hazardous. IIRC he has attacks outside of his large and out of all the encounters in the game right now hes the only creature who should have this ability. His jump aoe is actually the way these creatures fight and pound stuff into submission before eating them and moving on again. Its also a DC5 encounter on its own and considering our max lvl in the EA is lvl 4 that should be an indication that it kinds of a challenge.
-Radiance of dawn (Light cleric channeled divinity) does not light up the bog frown
-Gith fight at the cavern exit is borderline insane. A group of lvl 5 Gith fighters if you dont have a Gith with you (very nice touch that disguising as a Gith also works btw), fail at dialogue and/or pass dialogue but get your mind read. This encounter is so much nope that im not to sure where to start. Im sure it can be won but this early on in the game its serious overkill. Die hard players can get past it probably but I suspect most wont without either very stubborn players or cheese tactics.
-Had an enemy cast silence over one of my characters and that broke his/her (dont recall who it was) concentration?
-Flaming fist Ephron gives you special dialogue if you are a priest of Helm. Very nice touch!
-Mourning NPC at tavern also gives you dialogue to say a prayer for his wife if you are a cleric.
-The Zenhethil (or whatever they are called) encounter in the hideout behind the burned tavern is almost impossible to get through without passing some very difficult dialogue options. I also knocked the first guard out cold (which in itself was a challenge to keep him alive) and he dident even leave a corpse. He dissapeared. Poof. Gone. Letting this encounter revolve SO MUCH around passing a dialogue check is very nono. Dont do this.
-Bought the painter his freedom and I could give him 'a little' gold for the road and gave him 200gp. Two hundred gp is NOT a little. Maybe not a problem in the grand scheme of things. I was swimming in gold at this point but calling 200gp 'a little gp for the road' is hilarious honestly. Considering how much a night rest at a inn with a few meals costs giving him more then a a few coins, maybe a dozen is overkill. It would make him a big target for robbery. Seriously. You just gave this man more gold in hand then he would probably ever see in 1 go. Ok maybe not if hes noble. But you understand me. 200gp is not 'a little' gold.
-The NPC 'buckle' who was dead while surrounded by dead gnolls wasent a target for talk to the dead spell. Which was a shame, seemed weird when so many other NPC's in the area were options for that spell!
-I did a long rest and randomly failed the quest to save the NPC from the burning inn. Which I did save like 2 days earlier so this confused me?
-Speaking of failed quests. It would be nice if we could see failed, active and completed quests seperated in the questlog. That way we dont have a clustered questlog and can easily see what tasks we still have to complete.
-The friendly mindflayer in the underdark his tentacles constanly clip through his body during dialogue.
-Telling the mindflayer to keep the ring to himself (it shields him from beeing pursecuted from other mindflayers after all) isent an option, which I found a shame.
-Also, when you offer him gold for the ring, I just handed him a few items worth an amount of gold. I dident realize that you actually have to trade the ring for him, as it kind of feels odd. And you can just offer random junk worth the amount as well and considering he needs actuall gold for his research this seems out of place. A dialogue option with a listed amount would be better imo. That way the player could also look at the listed amount and consider if it was worth that much to him or not.
-Low ground gives disadvantage? I do recall that high ground gives advantage but I cant find low ground giving disadvantage back anywhere in the rules. THen again I cant find the rules for high ground either smirk
-A veyr annoying thing that the game does in the inventory, if its so full that you have a scroll window is that it moves to the top EVERY SINGLE TIME you move an item to a different character. Which makes inventory management last about 10 times longer then it needs to. Also while we can use containers like backpacks or pouches to manage items we cant tell them apart from eachother in any single way. This makes managing items very clunky, awkward and time consuming.
-Another annoying thing is that you cant see very well if you character is focusing on a spell or not. Ive had numerous times where I forget to look at character portrait to see if there was something listed there and I cast a 2nd concentration spell, cancelling the previous spell. The icon also doesent make it clear what spell it exactly is. Maybe giving the character a condition 'concentration. Concentrating on a spell' could fix that. And maybe make it easier to see what spell you are focusing on.
-You can jump down in the running river in the cave where the 2 smugglers are in who are attacked by gnolls. If you do that though, your character will be stuck and cant move.
-Randomly I see to get rocks fall ontop of my characters heads while climbing the hillside near the mountain pass. Which can be very annoying. Dont seem to get a DEX save against it either? Equally annoying as the random vines that litter the sides of the road in many places. Could live with both dissapearing tbh...
-Most of the magical items seem to be light armor, heavy armor or martial weapons. I did find some magical items that werent of these categories but they seem to be exceptions rather then the rule.
-No option to press the parties involved with the demon (Thiefling) and the ones pursueing her to see if theyre lying. You cant really ask questions or use a skill check.
-Killed the trader from the demon hunters and found over 100 pounds of loot on her as her entire inventory was lootable and I had sold stuff to her earlier.
-Had 2 conversations with the demon hunters where both times I told them im not helping them. The first time I clearly mentioned that I see through their ruse and they dont attack me but if I just say I wont help they will?
-Traded items with a trader that had no gold and ended up giving a few hundred gp worth of loot away. No big problem but a popup saying 'this trader doesent have enough gold for your goods. Doi you want to proceed?' would be good.
-The scroll of blindness is bugged. If you try to cast it you lose your action and cant cast the scroll that turn. The scroll isent used up but it seems you cant use in combat because of this. Havent tested it out of combat though.
-In the inventory screen its abit ungainly. At the buttom of the screen you can see your hp so its all in 1 screen technicly but it might as well not be. Using food items for hp is very awkward because of this. Also the items dont tell you how much HP you regain if you use the items which only adds to the awkwardness.
-The specator in the Underdark is not a specator. A specator is human sized. This was a large creature, I.E. a normal beholder. They also have no pertrification mechanic and are generally actually friendly. So long as whoemever approaches them isent trying to tamper, touch, get close to or steal what they are defending they are generally friendly creatures. The character model looks great, dont get me wrong.... But this wasent a specator.
-I found some knotted roots in the Underdark (between the Spectator encounter and the arcane tower) tbat cant be used. Well you can use them if you right click on them and click on use. But if you do that your character climbs, and then glitches off the cliff causing his body to appear in your party camp.
-Scroll of shield of faith cant be used. By anybody. I had a cleric PC and Shadowheart with me and we couldnt use them. Wyll and Gale also couldnt use it.

Phew that was a long list to post. Hope its usefull smile

Bugs/glitches:

Not much more to say. Bugs/glitches I stumbled upon.

Not bugs, but things that need another close look:
-Conversation with Nadira triggers twice. My guess is because I clicked on her and because shes supposed to trigger it herself? Gave me the soulcoin the first time and second time said that she was pickpocketed. That was kind of funny but it stood out that it triggered twice.
-Fire bottles, bloodstones, our mind and ball are missing their own icon and seem to have some form of placeholder art.

-Low ground gives disadvantage? I do recall that high ground gives advantage but I cant find low ground giving disadvantage back anywhere in the rules. Then again I cant find the rules for high ground either smirk I think this is a problem because having high ground is now double as strong. Your attackers gain disadvantage and all your attacks automaticly give advantage. Overkill. Both if the player has that high ground and if the AI has it.

Not sure what I should have called these? Not serious issues but things I noticed.

Things that I feel need an overhaul
-Fight with guts is incredibly hard. The amount of Goblins with double Hp, class levels, etc is just TO much. I had convinced the Ogres to be mercenaries for me but honestly have no clue how I would have managed to pull this fight off without it.

-Adding to that, cameras in every place where multiple floors are involved make the camera having a bloody seizure. The abandoned village as a whole was a chore to rummage through because the camera keeps tripping up.
-XP gained from kills seems to be INSANELY low compared to what XP the kills should give by dnd standards. A normal (8hp) goblin for example should give 50XP. A phase spider should give 700xp etc.

Looking back, I think most of the counters need an overhaul honestly. Alot of creative freedom was taken with monster stats and abilities and when people say 'its not bg3' this is about the only part of their argument where I agree with them. The monsters that you see in game are not dnd monsters. The encounters arent dnd or baldurs gate encounters but Larian encounters. There are to many encounters in the game that completely suck up ALL your resources if you want to beat them without having anyone dying. Some fights are fine. If the guts fight for example is very hard thats fine. Thats a (literal) bossfight! That fight should be hard! Every encounter in the underdark though? Thats stretching it a little. And before someone mentions 'but the underdark is supposed to be dangerous'.... Yes. Yes it is. The underdark as a whole. Is very dangerous. But 1 square mile having THIS MANY dangerous fights? No. All these encounters are basicly monsters/creatures that also fight eachother. They dont allow that many dangerous rivals to be alive near them. (good example? Look up the lore for the Bulette)

Nice things, compliments!
-Flaming fist Ephron gives you special dialogue if you are a priest of Helm. Very nice touch!
-Mourning NPC at tavern also gives you dialogue to say a prayer for his wife if you are a cleric.

Short list because most of the things I Wrote down I already mentioned somewhere in the forums smile

Pet peeves/quality of life requests
-Radiance of dawn (Light cleric channeled divinity) does not light up the bog frown

-A very annoying thing that the game does in the inventory, if its so full that you have a scroll window is that it moves to the top EVERY SINGLE TIME you move an item to a different character.
-Most of the magical items up for sale seem to be light armor, heavy armor or martial weapons.
-Had 2 conversations with the demon hunters back to back where both times I told them im not helping them.

I think pet peeves and quality of life requests speaks for itself smile

It's still very hard to read frown And you have some duplicates in there.

One thing I wanted to mention:
I very often have to click mutliple times.

I noticed this a lot as well, and I'm actually surprised I didn't see more posts about it. I believe there is a connection with how long you hold the mouse down before releasing it. What we think of as a normal click/release isn't long enough to be considered actionable by the game. I might be wrong, it could be tied to mouse movement or something else, I'd have to specifically try to test this more. Either way I think Larian needs to fix this up.

Only way I can make it easier to read is by adding some space between each point but considering the long post its would be a insanely large read,

Fair enough. Il post them in seperate posts with space between them so they are more easily read.

Bugs/glitches:
-Bugbears universally seem to lack the 'empty' tag when looted. Some other monsters that ive seen to have this as well, like the gnoll Flint warleader that you find in the mountains.

-Basement with the wizard room behind the mirror. I could move through the mirror. I dident notice that you could talk to it before I had already completely looted the entire room while you are supposed to talk to him to open it first.

-Actually forget to mention this but pretty much all the doors seem to share this. The gates in the underdark ruins from the temple have this, the gate in the tollhouse has this, etc.

-Had an enemy cast silence over one of my characters and that broke his/her (dont recall who it was) concentration?
I did a long rest and randomly failed the quest to save the NPC from the burning inn. Which I did save like 2 days earlier so this confused me?

-A veyr annoying thing that the game does in the inventory, if its so full that you have a scroll window is that it moves to the top EVERY SINGLE TIME you move an item to a different character. Which makes inventory management last about 10 times longer then it needs to. Also while we can use containers like backpacks or pouches to manage items we cant tell them apart from eachother in any single way. This makes managing items very clunky, awkward and time consuming.

-You can jump down in the running river in the cave where the 2 smugglers are in who are attacked by gnolls. If you do that though, your character will be stuck and cant move.

-The scroll of blindness is bugged. If you try to cast it you lose your action and cant cast the scroll that turn. The scroll isent used up but it seems you cant use in combat because of this. Havent tested it out of combat though.

-I had the 'rescue the druid Halsin' quest not triggering completion before the scene at camp happend. Not sure if thats intentional?

-Gale mentioned that he was glad how good I took the fact that he eats artifacts dispite him never even mentioning this in dialogue?

-The friendly mindflayer in the underdark his tentacles constanly clip through his body during dialogue.

-I did a long rest and randomly failed the quest to save the NPC from the burning inn. Which I did save like 2 days earlier so this confused me?

-Camera in the wizard room under the abandoned villaga kept tripping balls. It kept zooming in and out at a very rapid pace as if it was trying to give me seizures or something. Rotating the camera also seemed to be very frowned upon as that in particular seemed to have some serious issues....

-Mud Mephits have a ranged attack of opportunity? Not to mention the ranged attack itself that the MM doesent mention it has. On the flipside, its also missing abilities that its supposed to have.

This is my main point of frustration.

I've learned to use F1/F2/etc., instead, but I find the UI to be unresponsive in general.
