...BG1&2 were points where we saw upcoming mechanics (classes and removal of level limits) tested out. Is there any chance that the Lineage system coming up in Tasha's next month could be implemented here?

What is the Lineage system anyway? I haven't really kept up with D&D 5e outside the core books...

It is basically where instead of race-based ability scores you get a +2 and a +1 to put where you want.

I'm guessing there's a little more than that....but it's basically getting away from racial ability score bonuses.
