like the titel ,it makes the game not cool , i can sleep right behind the hostile creatures , and sleep infront of the sleeping goblins, is not only wired , but also make the many Settings useless, i can refresh my magic after any comabt .
sleep should have some sort of restriction, like resources restriction or place restriction , you need something in order to sleep , or you will have high risk of enimy ambush in some area!
if the game needs less difficulties for the beginners , you can provide more sleep essential resources in the loot , or decrease the possibilities to be interrupted by ambush, but at least for most of the DND fans and BG2 Fans , dont like sleep anywhere anytime , it makes the game too shallow , BG3 ist a DND game , not a normal RPG computer game! i wont mention it for Divinity Original Sin 2 , and i enjoyed D OS2 , but this is BG3 , a DND game!

+1; I've really come around on this idea. like if you are playing easy or story difficulty then the current system make sense. but on harder difficulties your resource driven rest would be pretty cool.

Just going to repeat what I've said in other threads...

I'm fairly certain that being able to rest whenever we want is by design.

A lot of plot elements are tied to the camp. That's why there's only one short rest, and combat's on the more difficult side. It's designed to encourage you to go to camp, which in turn moves these plot elements forward.

In the final game, we'll have even more companions, which means they'll want us to juggle our party around frequently. There'll be even more in-camp discussions during Act I before we decide who the final 3 will be.

i can understand the thought of chosing the right companions for the adventure, but not this easy and this frequency , its not needed , as long as you can chose the companion before you enter a big fight or new Area , is still fullfill the Intention of the design. but chose after every combat ? refresh your skill and magic after every combat? that is japan RPG not not DND game. The depth of DND games ist the tactical thought , but sleep after every Combat , ruin all the reallity settings of the DND, its a JRPG. final fantacy or sth like that.

Yeah, one just has to ignore these exploits at the moment. We should also get the option to have two short rest per day in addition to a long rest., for those that don't use the the free round trip teleport and heal exploit. Well, I call it an exploit, I guess it's just a button one presses in game.
