How does that work? How are the gith not extinct? Last I checked Gith and Dragons seem to need oxygen and food like the rest of us. So how do they survive in zero-g on astroids in space?

In addition to what Dwig says, spelljamming ships (which the Githyanki have) can pull a bubble of air around them when they move through *actual* space (that is, the voice between crystalline spheres on the material plane). Space travel is comparatively very easy in D&D compared to real life.
