So I just finished Act I, after about a week and a couple of restarts-for-patches, and I felt like browsing the forum to see what others made of the things I'd just done.

Only what I'm discovering is that everyone else did loads of things I didn't.

After Edmond's ghost, which I got sidetracked and forgot to solve, I don't think I ever got a non-Battlefield quest in Act I. Certainly none that I can remember. I didn't trigger anything, but I went everywhere and talked to everyone. Suddenly I'm done and Samuel's saying that something I never did was particularly interesting. Whirr?

Figuring out how to solve quests is my favorite part of a game like this; I get bored easily just killing monsters. I feel cheated that I didn't trigger any. Yes, I am playing on a very low difficulty setting, but I recall reading that this would affect only combat, not story-play. So what gives? Has anyone else ended up the same kind of way?

Also, and this is an entirely unrelated question, is it part of the game design that you can't sell "unique" objects? Because I have some that I want to unload, but they don't show up in a trade dialog.

Did you cut your way through the barracks or did you disguise yourself. If you disguised yourself you had ample opertunities for quests.

As for the unique items, I had the same problem. All I can say is dump them in a hollow tree somewhere and forget about them.

I didn't intend to cut my way through the barracks, it just kind of ended up happening. I had Citadel Guard Armor around but when after a little while it didn't seem to be making a difference, I switched back to the good stuff so that I'd be protected. (Am lousy at sneaking, took a very long time to develop the talent for it; met a couple of Death Knights early and just decided to have at them.)

Ah, well, thanks for the info. I'm sure I'll play it through again someday, I'll make sure to do it differently. (I actually played DivDiv through right up until the Wastelands, then deleted my game and started over, because I didn't think I'd be strong enough to finish as I had done it. Knowing me, the same thing will happen a month from now.)

As for the unique items, I just abandoned a couple myself -- they get heavy -- but they had great attributes, and I'd have loved to have been able to rake in the gold. I get greedy in my games. :hihi:

I know how you feel about having to dump the gear. You should see my showrooms in Morrowind <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
