Hi there,

During early access I decided to experiment as a Gith by calling shadowheart's bluff at the start when I first met her, not wanting to kill her right away I went for the knock out option and I looted the artefact from her unconscious body,

however when I met her in the grove later in the game, she was fiddling around with it like she still had it in her possession and acted like she bested me in the encounter earlier, I would suggest a reaction regarding the fact I yoinked it from her in the first place.

P.s Loving bg3 so far and I looking forward to seeing more content and classes/sub classes to be released

I think I saw the artefact in her inventory after she joined, and transferred it to the PC, without her complaining. Well, it looks the same, and has an ominous description. There are a lot of inconsistencies like this in EA, though.

I noticed the same thing and thought, wait a minute, her whole character story that we know so far is about that artifact but then in game she just happily let the PC take it from her inventory like "sure, you carry it for a while".

The artifact is not her whole story. It has a story of its own. She's just the one carrying it at the beginning.

Well ... in this game everyone inventory is just magicaly connected ... so there is no valid reason to anyhow complain about moving it from one to another, since inroleplay there is no difference ...

Yet you cannot use it, while she is around.

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown

Knocking out people does nothing right now story wise.

Larian's Biggest Oversight, what to do about it, and My personal review of BG3 EA

The thing that bothers me about the artifact is - you can't tell her to cut the crap after confrontation with the Gith an demand some real answers.

Also Lae'Zal doesn't seem too mind that we're just casually prancing around with that thing in our backpacks while her People are on a murder rampage to reclaim it.

I forgot the source but I've read speculation that the artifact in her inventory aka the weapon Githyankis are searching for is probably
the Infernal puzzle box with contract between Tiamat and some Githyanki ruler. Tiamat gives Githyankis dragons in exchange for something.

I found it odd that we could grab the item at all. If a character is hiding it, then why is it just sitting in her inventory for us to grab?

If you play a Githyanki you have special dialogue with her about the box. It is a Githyanki artifact, but if you ask her about it she goes "none of your business".

I feel like a Githyanki should be able to press the issue considering it is literally a Githyanki device that belongs to your people.

Im not sure what kind of special dialogue, but i was able to tell her that is Githyanki artefact with my drow, since my Arcana check passed ...
Then again she tells me that is none of my business.

Also, i bet true Githyanki will just stab her with a sword and take it. laugh

She said that to me as well, and my character is an elf.

Also, while you can move the artefact into your inventory, if you try to use it (in your inventory or hers) she will tell at you.

I noticed that. Can you interact with it if you dont have Shadowheart in your party? If so I find it kinda weird that you can remove it from her inventory. Why not let it be 'stuck' there like how you couldnt take Boo from Minsc?

The idea that you can move the item around at all is kinda silly to me...

Before the update you could not touch that item in her invetory.
"Hey dont touch that" was the response I think.

The update broke that.
Sometimes its in Tav's bag instead of hers and I never even touched it.
