Since it is only a small chance that it will be sold this is a good point (but boring) to see if luck affects what a merchant happens to sell.
I think I'm going to do hundred or more (needed to get some decent statistics on it) jumps to a battlefield and look at the different merchants.
That char has 127 luck atm.
Then I'll start over with the game to get to the same battlefield but now with a 'normal' luck char and do the same.

To Larian:
Please tell me (if needed in a private message) that the merchants in any battlefield have this chance instead of just Act IV because the char I'm going to try this with is not yet in act IV.

It's just random, it's not affected by your character's luck but it's affected by your luck in real life <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Any battlefield should work, I had a holy water in Act 1 BF with my level 1 key

Why is everybody so worked up about holy water? they cost 35000+ and as far as I understand it correctly you get 1 permanent stat from drinking one. For 10000 I can buy a charm that gives me three, and I don't have to use 4 skill points for a skill either. Can someone explain this to me?

I know some people won't like what I say out loud now, but holy water at merchants is a little bugged. When I was shopping in the battlefields 1 with key 1, each and every one of the 5 merchants had a holy water for sale at the same moment...

The charms you get/buy are random - but if you have holy water, you can choose what you want to raise.

In former versions, you could make unlimited perm potions with this (and only 1 in the whole game). Then 1.4 came out => unlimited with extraordinary high values cames.
Well, then the Larians changed this to 1x use and still only one bowl existed. Now you can buy them at the traders => if you have enough cash. In 1.43 you could steal it from them - but in 1.44 the Larians shut this gap, too.

1 50k+ item is 5 pts in 1 stat IF you wear that item.
If you get a better item for that spot better hope it also has a charm slot and fork over another 50k+
1 35k bowl of water = 7 IIRC pts at alchemy 4, 10 IIRC pts at alchemy 5 without any string attached.

hmmmm, sounds balanced, a point increase for 35k with no other worries left, or 3 points increase for a charm slot for 10k in the beginning of the game. But you can find a better piece and you have to spend some more 10k's per charm for your new piece... I think I go for both of them in the future <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> If only I had bought those 5 holy waters each merchant had on offer at one visit to the battlefields...

Another question: since I have a hard time to see which color each alchemy herb has due to my colorblindness, I have to carry all those herbs with me and hope I picked the right ones to do some potion brewing. Can you folks at larian give them names, like blue alchemy herb, red alchemy herb etc. Saves me weight and room problems <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

And spoil me here please, what is the recipe for perm potions, a bunch of herbs + holy water, or do I need more stuff?

Perm => extract alchemy skill lv 4 + holy water + herbs (7 different kinds, depending on what you want to create)

If you are colour blind => just look if you have 2 different bunches (I put them into a row for better oversight) - can you see which potions are active? (in gold?) Or do you wish a list of combos to know what to create?

here, hope it helps. The following test base upon EV 1.44.
At lvl 4, so far I don't know teachers for lvl 5. Even Annabelle in Act has level cap at 4 =>

HP and mana => 105
stamina => 200
Strength, int., agility, survival, con => 8
speed => 7 => riddle solved. I wore leggings giving me a malus due to percentage restriction => it's 8 as well. Barnie solved it BTW.
