Can I first say that I'm loving Baldur's Gate 3 even in it's current state. This game is going to be amazing when it's finished!

I'm probably not the first to point this out but I actually almost missed the dream sequences completely. I'm playing a good cleric and I figured I probably shouldn't be using any evil mindflayer power or invading people's privacy, so I didn't take any of the opportunities to use the Ithillid wisdom powers. If it weren't for some YouTubers streaming I wouldn't have even known about the dream sequences. Once I found out they were a thing I wanted to see them, so I went ahead and started using the powers, but by the time I got my first dream I had already **SPOILERS** saved all the Tieflings, completed just about every quest on the surface, and made my way to at least half of the Underdark. I suggest maybe having these sequences play out tied to a certain number of long rests if they haven't otherwise been triggered.

On another note, many conversations with my companions feel like they are out of order. For example:

  • Gale told me his secret before I ever gave him an artifact (probably because I picked him up late). Gale was like, "Oh it's me, man of mystery, I bet you have questions," and I like, "dude we just met". I think I found him the night before the party, and he immediately spilled the beans.
  • Gale didn't die for the first time until I was in the Underdark. After reviving him he acted like I didn't know his secret and thanked me for trusting him.
  • Astarion told me about Cazador (I think that was his name) several times in different conversations.
  • I ran into the Monster Hunter guy while Astarion was in my party and then still had the option to tell him about it later at camp.

I would suggest if you don't find all the companion characters they stumble over your camp after a couple days. "Oh hey, saw your fire, looks cozy, can I join you? Is that stew???" Just a thought lol. Anyway, just some observations. Thanks for a great game! Can't wait for more!

Can confirm. I didn't make camp for the first time until well into the Underdark and had many of the above experience.

You are not supposed to get the tadpole dreams if you aren't using their power. You also won't learn about Raphael unless you talk to Nettie and the game narrative support never meeting him. The game is full of elements like that.

As for the companions, their triggers/checks are all over the place and buggy right now.

I came across this Nettie bit before and even than I was pretty sure it's wrong. Anyway I tested it and Raphael doesn't necessarily comes after meeting Nettie. He come after the first time you find a lead that is a goose chase. Specifically, I was able to make him show up after finding the githyanki, after visiting aunty Athel, and after speaking with gut. In all of this cases I had no interaction with Nettie whatsoever

Larian's Biggest Oversight, what to do about it, and My personal review of BG3 EA
"74.85% of you stood with the Tieflings, and 25.15% of you sided with Minthara. Good outweighs evil, it seems."

So this is why I never had the dream sequence!
