Playing multiplayer, one my friends stole the Idol of Silvanus. After a conversation (I don't know what he said to them), battle ensues. However, we don't fight the entire place, but only a handful of druids. Everyone else (including everyone inside, like Kagha and Nettie) rush out and away up toward the vendor area. We kill the few druids who attacked us, look around a bit and prepare to leave. In the vendor area of camp, battle begins again, but some of them are neutral and on our side (maybe 3 npcs including Raff or whatever his name is), and about four others are against us. We kill the enemies. Friend loots a red body, which sets off the remaining two npcs that recently helped us. We kill them. After that, and this is the really odd part, we find virtually everyone dead scattered around the area, including Wyll, Kagha, Nettie, and Zorru. We never even saw them fighting (almost as if they all ran out and fought each other by the vendor areas when we were first fighting the druids).

So the question is, is the theft of the Idol supposed to set them off and start a civil war?

It did for me too, my guess was that any interruption of the ritual opens them to risk again and the refugees are what caused it. Instead of blaming just you, they cleanse the grove.


What is the problem you are solving? Does your proposed change solve the problem? Is your change feasible? What else will be affected by your change? Will your change impact revenue? Does your change align with the goals and strategies of the organizations (Larian, WotC)?
