So I've started yet another playthrough this time with "prescribed" long-rests to try to get as much companion interactions as possible.
And while I'm pleasantly surprised by early game interactions (Astarion's star gazing scene, Lae'Zal's thoughts on Faerun, Gale's Weave scene etc) they are definitely too easy to miss, which is already discussed in many topics. Still that is probably something that should be adressed.
Also (and I realise this is probably difficult to implement) it would be really amazing if everyone organically joined the conversation that concerns them, without the need for making camp rounds, checking who else might have formed an opinion on something being discussed (and ofc they'll be discussing it solely with the PC)
For some reason camp feels more alive before it gets upgraded and there are already some great topics to breathe some more life into it.
My main concern however is that the more we advance into the story the less our companions have to say about it, which is especially pronounced after the camp party. Seriously no one has any thoughts on entering Underdark and attempting to take on Absoute's forces head on? Nothing to say about the Hag or Spider Queen and her implied disturbing backstory (from the journals)? Nothing from Gale on Arcane tower and it's contraptions? What about any relationship development - I mean I'm in "exceptional" status with everyone but Lae'Zal and that doesn't unlock any additional dialogues?
I surely hope this is something that could be ascribed to EA but sadly I've played too many games where after initial "honeymoon" the companions never call, never write until just before the final fight (or the one talk per chapter approach).
