There are situations when a new person can join the party - for example, Gail or Laezel. And your party already has 4 members. Then there are strange dialogues, and a new character is waiting in the camp.
I think it would be much more convenient if Baldurs Gate took over the experience of Dragon Age Origin, and made a screen for selecting party members during such an event in order to avoid inconvenient dialogues (some players do not understand them and consider them a refusal to go with us) and take a new member into the party instead of someone from the current group immediately

Especially annoying is that every time I want to remove a party member, I have to go through two dialogue options and then listen to their cinematic snark.

+1 I swear sometimes it looks like Larian is basing this game on Dragon Age Origins and other times it looks like no one there ever played it

I would also like to be able to access every party member's equipment while in Camp.

+1 of course, and as well a large 3D view zoom of the characters if we want to look at them in more details, like in the creation tool.

yeah there was something about making a choice and sticking to it..

Tbh everyone surviving through such degree of events sounds kinda dumb as well... from story perspective only though.

That's exactly how this game feels sometimes.
