Now hear me out before you get the boiling oil and feathers!
First off Gnomes are just amazing to have around. The Halflings at least wouldn't be completely outnumbered by the tall folk then. Plus then we could have Deep Gnomes! More Underdark representation up in here! Illusion spells, pranks around every corner, and the laughter never ending!
Secondly, why not some Half-ogres being playable. I only bring this up when I came across a rather, um, loud exchange between a hobgoblin and a female ogre (I'm assuming). Joking aside, I think it would be nice to have a Large-sized race added, but I'm not sure that will happen.
Not going to ask for a class level raise, but I would like to see at least a new race and class release soon. So I have something else to test content on that is more varied than classes I have now.
Anyone else feeling kind of burnt out on the choices we have right now?
As for half-ogres...there is a certain Bugbear guy and an Ogre lady that is in the process of implementing one. If the players would be so kind to listen to Shadowheart and stop interrupting, you might have your wish in the next several months

I feel. I want to play as a transgender vegetarian gnome Conchita, cleric of Bane who will romance only goblins and ogres , but the game does not allow me to do it
But seriously speaking, the developers have already given too much choice. If you add new races, in the end they all become poorly spelled out, and resources for this will be spent at the expense of quests, companions, and so on. They even gave halflings, for which a very small percentage of players will play just for fun (I think), why do waste resources on half-ogres?
Let's be honest, I'm sure 70% of the players are elves, humans, drow, or half-elves, 30% are all other races
I would prefer a few races but a long and large main quest and many side quests, interesting and well-written characters, than 100 voiceovers and 20 races, at the cost of making the game much shorter

Gnomes, gnomes, I love gnomes. They live in your garden and fight to protect your homes.
I think what I like most about gnomes is their cute little helium filled lung voices. No matter the format they always seem to sound somewhat like this.
Give me HK 47. On a more serious note, I hope we'll get some more exotic companions. Enough with the humans and elves. At least give us one dwarf or a halfling

The dataminers said we'd have a werewolf halfling girl, a little trash but fun

On a more serious note, half-ogres were actually playable in AD&D 2e as per the Monstrous Manual if a DM allowed them. I used to play one for quite a while in one of our campaigns.

No, just no. WoW gnomes are not representative of D&D gnomes. They are an abomination.
By the way, there is a svirfnebli already in the game and, thankfully, he does not sound at all like a WoW gnome.
Yes. Yes, I did. Inspired by said barn scene, but also I only got to play one once long, long ago. That said, I am pretty certain Half-Ogres aren't making the list. Mainly, I'd just like to see a couple more classes show up to test out, but also having more of the races they intend to have would be nice as well. As far as overwhelming the game with races, I highly doubt we'll get too many more. Ones that I speculate showing up is the Githzerai due to a line Lae'zel says when you first meet her. Granted it can go for any character that shows up, but pretty sure a Monk Githzerai is going to be a possible combo. Gnomes are just staple cannon for the Realms. Garl Glittergold is after all one of the deities you can pick from the list for a cleric.
Half-orcs are going to make the cut, because they will.
That is just my best guess though. Just with a few lines we are definitely getting one other planar race to the pile due to dialogue choices on the Githyanki. Plus makes sense since both Githzerai and Githyanki are mortal enemies to the Illithid.
As far as being serious about wanting to seeing Half-ogres as a playable race - I highly would love to have them as an option, but I am well aware it will probably not happen. I mean if we really want to go really far out on the race tree why not Thri-kreen!
I think Lae'zel would kill a Gnome after 10 seconds after being in the party, absolute polar opposite personalities. Half-Ork and Gnomes are being added at some point, dunno about half-ogres. A Gnome would "troll" characters like Lae'zel and Shadowheart to madness and I think it would be an amazing contribution to a story/party. I imagine a Gnome would have a blast with a psychic mind tadpole also, would make goblins to dumb shit just for giggles. lol
Gnomes need to die. Slowly and painful... there are no words strong enough to express how much I hate gnomes.
Where does such hatred for gnomes come from? I would understand if it was about the tinker gnomes from Dragonlance, but BG 3 takes place in Forgotten Realms. I don’t know about you, but personally for me, all the gnome (and svirfneblins) characters presented in the EA did not cause hatred or other negative reaction in me.

Gnomes in most games are sickeningly cute and evoke hatred in me.
I also don't like the tinker type that pop up in a few game worlds(Azeroth, Norrath).
