GROUP COMMANDS

Having to micro manage sneaking and jumping each character at a time is quite clunky. It would be nice to have a group toggle so you can sneak everyone at the same time, and then toggle off to single/solo to sneak the person you are using at that time only. When jumping with group toggled on, each character could use an ai to wait until the landing spot you first selected is cleared, that way, you could get everyone across jumps, with only one jump command. I was very excited about jumping from the previews, and the vertical element it would add to the game, but playing it like this is a real chore. Definitely not a gamebreaker, but the micro management involved in say, getting across a river, is not fun at all, whereas if it was not clunky it would be very fun to jump around. If nothing else, please give us a hotkey for jump!

Others have suggested rts like controls where you could box select the characters or click them individually. I would like that quite a lot, but I think my suggestion would be the more economical choice as far as programming goes. But then I'm not a coder so what do I know :p

TLDR: Please remove the need to micro manage jumping one character at a time. Or at least let us keybind jump!

I love the idea of a group jump function, but I wonder how hard it would be to do, technically, with the way their gameworld and jumping are currently implemented. I feel like if it was an EASY thing to do, they already would have done it. So it probably presents some technical challenge.

Except as I noted in your awsome list thread..."US" jumps automatcally. So the programming is there.

Yes, but that's one character doing one, specific jump. They could just script that in. It might be harder to make group jumping work in ALL places, what with how many different shapes and configurations of terrain there are where jumping is possible.

That's a possibility I hadn't considered.

One thing I've thought about for group jumping, is that a character's Strength affects how far the can jump. This is probably why it hasn't been implemented yet.

Certain characters in your party won't be able to jump to certain places; or if you use the max range of your strongest character to make a jump that usually all your characters could make, how is the game supposed to know that all your characters can make it?

It's probably harder to implement just because of this. I don't think this will prevent them from adding it at some point, and I'm sure they are working on it, but it's something to think about.

+1, there are many threads about feedback regarding jump already; take a look

Somewhere in the middle ground for me - as much as it annoys me Gale can’t reach many places the rest of the party can - it’s realistic & he can use misty step....
But I’m not against a few quality of life functions to keep things moving too

I Guess it would be way more confortable without their horrible chain mechanics.

It wouldn't be the best, but everything what's actually not confortable about movements/exploration is even more complicated because of this totally bad mechanic.

Of course an "auto follow/jump" should be the best, but I'm not sure how they could manage that because, as someone else said every characters can't jump the same distance.

The easiest way to do it may be to auto jump everyone at the lowest distance allowed.

I suspect there would be challenges with auto jumping, both related to distance and available space. The 'Us' jump actually fails if you move too quickly and you can lose him.

I think the whole jump procedure would be easier if there was a 'disconnect all' button. Once everyone is separated its a lot easier to do the manual jumps.
