Here's a screenshot of what happened in game.

I thought 1d20+5 meant i can't roll below 6? I'm new to this type of game.

Any help would be appreciated.

The game subtracts your bonuses from the roll target, instead of adding your bonuses to your roll.

Your image says "Roll target 10." This is the total (1d20+5) value you have to get.
The game subtracts your bonuses (+5 from proficiency and Charisma 16) from that target, meaning that you need to roll a 5 on the d20 to pass the check.

Glad you get it, I am going to explain it slightly different for others who see this thread. In this case, if you had no bonuses you would need to roll a 15. You have a +5 from modifiers. So Larian could have left the DC at 15 and add 5 to whatever you roll. So you would need to roll a 10 or higher to pass the 15DC with +5 added. Instead, they subtract the +5 from the DC dropping it to 10 and now you just roll a D20. Either way, rolling a 10 works.
