Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Suggestions & Feedback Mindreading Spell / "Friend" spell not working?

So there are these two spells in the game.

One of them is apparently helping you to read what someone else is thinking. ( Never saw it work tho, or a difference in general. )
The other one is boosting your Charisma rolls in the dialogues. ( Never saw a difference here as well. )
Am I doing it wrong?
Has Raphael cast a Noob curse on me while I was not looking, for sh°ts and giggles?


Was cool to fail both rolls to stop Astarion from drinking me empty though.
I succeeded the first 3 times easily. And we got enough ressurrection scrolls in the "Beta".

Kinda disappointing though how he did not reacted to that at all.
Hey he killed us and he does not even feel or act as if he was sorry. >snort
Oh well - but should he? We live again after all.

Mindreading spell is working fine ... just not on everyone. Not sure why tho.
But i certainly sucesfully used it on Dror Ragzlin.

Friends is kinda more tricky ... it should give you advantage for charisma check, not boost charisma ... that means you roll two dices instead of one, and then higher resut is chosen.
I believe it works in conversations at reroll ... not sure tho once aggain.

Detect Thoughts doesn't seem to be fully implemented yet. There are lots of checks for it in conversation, but I haven't had them appear unless I modded in the ability - just casting the spell on my character didn't work.
