Hi guys,
I think the beastmaster "summon companion" feature would be more intresting as "tame companion"
Larian could let us tame animals and send them to camp/ leave them in our party by passing an animal handling check on them. If they did it like this the beast companion would feel less like a magic entity and more like an animal friend. They could even let us name them and it looks like there is already an area of the camp where beasts could be waiting for us.
Also there is plenty of animals scattered around in act 1 that could be tamed like the scared boar where we find astarion and the giant spiders in the goblin fort.
I just like the idea of befriending an animal instead of summoning one.
What do you guys think?

For petting purposes, of course. Unless times become rough and we are a bit short on food. But Firesnakearies made a good study on this, and it is not likely to happen any time soon.

I do like the idea of making the acquisition of an animal companion an in-game experience, rather than an inventory action. But on the other hand, real wild animals can be risky ... did you see what happened to Roy (ref. Siegfried & Roy)? Maybe magic is better. My Beach Druid would love to have a clam companion, but land mobility would be a problem. I was thinking of maybe making a little chariot that my clam could ride inside. Spartacus the Clam.

I like this idea. Though I would also say we should be able to select a specific animal we want the first time we take Beastmaster or Beast Tamer so we can have the animal companion we want most out the gate.

Keep the ability to re-summon them, though. Maybe we can have a little stable at camp where we can see our pets and pick which ones we can summon in the field.
