Can't cast animal friendship on owlbear (not the cub). I checked the owlbear INT is 3 only. But the screen show "invalid target".

Yet we can use speak with animals and animal handling on them. Inconsistency.

The owlbear always attacked at once when I get there.
The was no cut scene (as shown in some video from Swen) and I had no skills to use on it.
I also could not cast any spell with the words animal on it.

I see.

My d&d knowledge is limited, wasn't aware the difference of animal and monster.

I want to be able to actually talk to the owlbear, seems it is not possible, lol.

Have you tried potions?

Don't want to give too much away, but there is a potion called something like 'speak with animals'

I do agree that the DnD on this is pretty sketchy as the wording of the potion would make you assume it would only act on 'animals' but _hint_ it works on the owlbear which is _not_ an animal and is actually a monster as previously mentioned.

Yes, I tried that already, but not on first contact, where the cut scene. Not sure the potion work on first contact.

I was trying to talk to the owlbear mother after the cub show up in my camp. But that always lead to combat.
