If you kill Brem you can't free the artist. He keeps asking if you bought his freedom or not. There's no option for "you're free to go now, no one is left to stop you"

I killed everyone in the underground hideout and the artist still lived.
But he was so freaked out, he just said something like " Please, don't hurt me. "
or something and I could not even dialogue with him.

That is the moment when you just grab someone at the collar and slap them until they listen.
" WE FREED YOU, YOU CAN GO NOW, KAY? "

I cast "Friend" on him and everything, he wouldn't calm down.

Wow, I'm just super impressed that you could keep him alive!! That entire area turns into a giant fireball of death almost instantly!

Yeah it blew up once and gods did it blew up!

But it is very easy I feel, if done strategically.
First grab as many of these barrels as possible via crouching when not seen.
And start fighting at the deepest end of the hideout, where the two Wolf-owners and treasure rooms are.

I activated the boobytraps with the button and when the enemy on the path was nearby one bomb, I just shot the bomb for example with ranged weaponry or a spell.
And when you killed the group further inside, you can sneak back to the front and start slaughtering them with ambushes pretty easily.

The worst place to start the battle is at the vendor near the entrance of course.
You are below and they have advantage on ranged attacks.
And the hideout is build to be more easily defendable from the deeper one is inside.

Thats why I started fighting right at the end.

When you are allready sneaking, there is not so much trouble to go on top and push everyone down.
Its a deep fall.

And that feeling when you manage to push them all down, and then blow the whole place.
