When I upgraded my sharpen weapon skill to level 4, it caused my weapon damage to drop. On my Death Knight, the weapon damage on my cutlass of luck was 63-133. When I sharpened it it changed to 58-113. On my hero, however, it did increase properly. Are certain swords only able to be sharpened to a certain level or is this a continuation of the sharpen skills bug?

Was the weapon previously sharpened? Did the agility requirement also drop? With the balance changes, the new sharpen bonus may be less than the cumulative effects of the previous version.

Don't know Raze, that save was a long time ago, I just went on to beat the game. Any way's I think I have an old save I can load to check out the Agility and see If that dropped also.. I'll get back to you when I load It up, should be soon!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Strange... with the previous sharpen, the added agility requirement per level was 6,7,8,9,10 (didn't check higher). For the new sharpen, it is 6,7,8,9,10,12,13,14

Since you learned the new skill to level 5, this means additional damage of 47-64. Based on the agility remaining the same, this implies you sharpened it on level 5 previously, and not on any of the previous levels. However, the previous level 5 damage bonus was 16-33, so the damage should have gone up if this were the case.

It seems the damage bonus with the new sharpen skill replaces the previous bonus, but the agility requirement for the weapon may not be handled properly.
