I think it would be interesting if Bladeward was enabled the same way as Infernal Rebuke. The caster casts Bladeward and it stays in reserve until the caster is hit by a martial attack. Then the spell triggers and reduces the damage from the triggering attack. The downside is that once it triggers you can't attack the next round. I'm just trying to think of ways to make Bladeward useful as it still doesn't feel a good use of action economy when healing potions are a bonus action and very plentiful. Thoughts?

Yeah I'm not sure, it seems really situational right now. I think I've only ever cast it once.

Blade Ward has always been a weak cantrip, I’ve never seen it used once in tabletop D&D. It’s actually best for out of combat, like when you know you’re going to take some unavoidable damage (maybe falling). This is probably one of the few spells I’m happy for Larian to rebalance for this game.
