Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems Learning skills after finished game in BF crashes!

I have a character that has finished the game (level 31), I went to the battlefield from the main menu and started playing.

I went to a merchant and upgraded my 2-hand mele to level 20 (25000 gold). I was level 10 before this, when I try to upgrade the skill and press the checkmark to finalize the change the game locks up and crashes.

I first tried this with the hero saved from version 1.42 and the game was upgraded to ver 1.44 and this was the result.
I next loaded a save just before they step into the rift and saved it to get the player up to a ver 1.44 character and the same result.

I would appreciate any help here as I would like to continue the game in the battlefields with this character. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Did you try to unlearn / relearn the skill? Perhaps that will work around this problem.

This problem has been reported by JollyJoe and myself, but the post is already on page #3 of this forum.

btw: now that you have finished the game what is your overall impression?

Yes I did unlearn and relearn and It made no difference at all. Just Crash to Window's and I have 12 points for my warrior I've been saving just for this part of the game.. Make It stop??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" />

Can sombody give me a savegame of this, I can't seem to reproduce it.

I think I figured out what happened. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />
I had edited this character with t-search (memory hacker) earlier and upped his attributes to arount 250. When I lowered them back where they should have been I had no problems upgrading skills in the battle grounds at the end of the game.

Go ahead shoot me now! put me out of my misery.

This is a problem that several of us have run into. I posted a possible solution in the Tips forum titled "CTD when adding points above level 10 - solution?". It is on Page 2 at this time.

I don't know if your save is corrupted because you edited it, but it is worth a try. I know that it worked for my game, but I don't edit saves, so I don't know if it will help you.
