Astarion died in the water at the base of the hill during the Harpy battle. Since he is under water, I am not able to target him to revivify. I also can not talk to him to remove him from the group... I guess I'm starting the game over or going back to a really old autosave.

There is a character that can revive your party members back to camp. For the sake of not spoiling anything, i will only say that he/she can be found early in the game.

I'm not one to worry about spoilers. While a good story is something I mildly enjoy, I would like to get him back. If you need to reply privately to prevent spoilers to others, please do so.

In the overgrown temple is a room you access by pushing a button. An undead comes out the sarcophagus in that room and talks to you. Later he appears at your camp by the water. You can talk to him and pay 200G to revive a fallen party member.
