I guess the first issue is that I play on stadia. I have joked before that us stadia folk feel like the forgotten the stepchildren. Patches and fixes don't come on the same day as they do with steam or GOG. And there are several technical issues with the controller. I do understand that controller support is only in beta but there are a lot of issues and things that are just missing.

Character creation is a mess with the stadia controller. Trying to adjust appearance is virtually impossible because there's no way to see what hair colour you are picking for example. As you scroll through the appearance options half of them just disappear. The bottom half of the options have to be chosen blind because you can't see what you are clicking on. Sometimes if you scroll up and down eventually you land on the hairstyle and you can then select through them as you normally would but most of the time you just can't see it as an option. These screenshots show what you can see and anything you can't see here can't be seen during setting up the appearance. The options are there you just can't see them. If you carefully count how many selections down and over the hair colour you want to select is you can come pretty close but it shouldn't be a math challenge choosing red hair.

There are also no tooltips available during character creation. If I am trying to build a ranger there is nothing to tell me what a keeper of the veil is and what a mage breaker is just as examples. It is the same thing for all the classes. For us stadia, people to find out what these things are we have to go to third party websites and search out the information. That's kind of a pain in the butt.

When you finish saving the Druid Grove you are supposed to place a rune "totem of the wolf" if I remember correctly. There is no way to combine the totem of the Wolf with the slot where it's supposed to be placed. Which means I can't get my loot for completing the quest. That is a drag.

Trying to scroll through spells or items to add to the hot bar is another thing that you have to do blind because it just doesn't show you what you're trying to select. You can add the item find if you go into your inventory but you can't do it through the option to set what is in your Hotbar.

You see the little marks on the map that tell you where you're supposed to go but there's no way to scroll over them to see what quest they involve. I've seen screenshots of people playing with steam or GOG and they're able to stroll over the yellow Square to see what is there. We cannot do that with the controller on stadia.

Other than these technical issues I absolutely love the game! I played the first two when they were brand new and I was old then but they were made by a company in the city I was from and I loved them. The best games I had ever played. Like I say, I'm old. I played on the original Atari and I had a pong when it was new. I'm old. That's why I play on stadia. I'm not a gamer who will be playing 18 different games this year. I will be playing Baldur's Gate 3. There was no way I was going to buy an expensive gaming computer just to play one game even if it does seem like it will be the best game ever. Stadia was the way to go for me. I play on a Chromecast Ultra on my big TV and I love it!

Keep up the great work! You are making what I believe will be the best video game ever! I can't wait for the full game to be released but I guess I have to. Hahaha. Happy holidays.

Don't take this the wrong way, but ..... thank god!

I've been trying to bring these matters to someone's attention since patch #3 dropped and scuttled the character creation menu on Stadia where I play the game as well. I had no problems using their character creator before the patch and it continues to vex me. Frankly the whole turn based style of gaming is new to me and it has continued to be a steep learning curve.

Frankly, I think that some of the enemies are leveled too high for the portion of early access that we can experience at the moment.... at least currently. I get slaughtered often and games should not be that difficult, unless the intention is to mimic Dark Souls? I prefer playing rpgs to enjoy the story content and while I have played games on hard settings from time to time, I do not like being treated as if I'm expected to be a masochist. That's just me, medium setting us usually my slot. Then I can reasonably just play through and take in the story that the developers wanted to tell, without having to fight tougher game mechanics to prove my worth. That stuff is for the mortal kombat crowd!

Anyway, I do like BG3 and hope that someone hears your plea. I genuinely wish that they would repair whatever it was that they broke on Stadia with their third patch. I want to recreate my erased save characters and get back to their pitiful adventures!

I'm right with you guys. The UI is really broken when using a controller. My hotbar doesn't match up, inventory pages don't allow me to select items correctly or appear "off screen", leveling up is problematic as the options appear out of order when scrolling down the the controller and character creation is done 1/2 in the dark as you can't see what you are selecting for some of the options - hair color is the one that seems to be the most problematic right now. I love the game and get around the problem by flipping over to Stadia on my PC where I can use the mouse and keyboard interface to create characters, level up, etc but obviously that's pretty annoying to have to do every time.

Same here. Had to switch to the keyboard/mouse interface on my PC (still on Stadia) to get this to work.
