Merry Christmas (early...or late depends on when this gets read)
Decided to give my new computer build a work out and downloaded an ol' favorite Original Sin 2. Definitive edition.
Build specs:
Gigabyte Aorus Elite B450 V2. (Revision 1.0)
AMD Ryzen 5 3400G
Windows 10 Pro
16G Crucial Ballistic memory
(2gig used for video)
750w Thermaltake power supply
Using onboard graphics via the Ryzen CPU. Vega graphics. (think it's 11)
Sense it's a brand new build, All systems are fully up to date for drivers. Having a bit of fun! (also the .net stuff was tended to upon install of the game..)
Graphics settings are full screen and it runs fantastic on 'ultra'. I tried 'fake full screen' and 'windowed' to see if the problem followed, but the graphics look blah using those settings. I might see if I can tweak things around to improve image quality, but this has me rather spoiled at this point. I do remember seeing issues where it crashes the system upon exiting to a black screen. Supposedly was resolved with a patch. As tech changes, seems that old problems can come back up.
I did give it a while and noted the HDD light flickering...but it didn't seem to get anywhere for a long while. So I triggered a reset.
Only way I can seem to get it to exit correctly is to go into task manager and 'kill process'. Seems rather like using a sledge hammer to fix a pocket watch.
So that's the problem: 'exit' game goes to black screen and gets stuck. Using ctrl/alt/del also does not work, and no action from the windows key or 'alt/tab' to change programs. Oh I can do that while playing the game and it works normally, just not with the 'exit' glitch.
Any ideas would be most welcome. Really enjoy playing these games, Only sad part was that I lost the "Dragon Knight Saga" when I gave my wife the computer I was using. (FYI. 10 year old build, But also pretty snappy! She's enjoying her early Christmas gift, as it's blowing away what she was using)
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
