Has anyone noticed that since the last patch of BG3, NPC's target your main character over any and all other targets? Even with a clear threat standing next to them and PC at full health. Which leads to the next issue, where a Hostile NPC does not always provoke an attack of Opportunity, even with the option clicked and circle going, to run PAST the clear threat next to them to only focus the PC.

Next, when a NPC PC toon moves and suffers an attack of Opportunity, that toon loses it's main action AND stops all movement.

All this amounts to a PC having to survive long enough to handle as the MT, even as a wizard..

From what I've seen, they tend to favor picking off spellcasters first. Any time Gale is in my party it's like he's got a "kick me" sign above him.

I don't really notice something different but I didn't play a lot since patch 3.
Anyway there's a problem in AI's target choices... That's a fact and it doesn't help me to find combats interresting, especially for melee characters.

It depends on what you're fighting I think, some opponents favor killing spellcasters and will even provoke (and some opponents have ways of avoiding provoking, like all the goblins have a way to disengage) whereas others will just hit whatever is closest to them, or what is lowest HP that they can attack that round. One thing that seems erratic is enemies attacking downed PCs, like instead of focusing the guy that's still up and going to kill them next turn they give a downed PC a failed death save?

And on the subject of death saves, IMO change this system somewhat. An ogre smashing into the ground gives you 1 failed death save. A phase spiderling nibbling you gives you 1 failed death save. These things are not equally threatening.

It seem to me like they simply go for easiest hit ... so your lowest AC char is targetet first.
Makes sence for sentient races ... seem a bit odd for spiders that are facing Dwarf, to attack mage that is 10y away instead. :-/

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown
