I just wanted to share some feedback of my first experience with BG3. And so far it's been awful.

There is this one male vampire dude (I am also male) that keeps sending me gay vibes and even tried to suck my blood but didn't want to "hurt me" in the middle of the night despite always leaving him at camp and never including him in my party. He always talks like he has the hots for me and I had to finally tell him to get lost to avoid all of the forced interaction with him. It also doesn't help when dialog with him seems like my character is responding with snarky but compassionate vibes since you're a voiceless protagonist that can only make exaggerated facial gestures.

So far the only two women in my party are the alien-looking lady without a nose that hates anything not her species and is always demanding things and telling me how terrible I am. And some other chick that is the Forgotten Realms equivalent of Captain Marvel: to be a strong woman you have to be an asshole to men. Neither of these are attractive qualities.

So... two asshole women. A gay dude. And a wizard. The wizard guy is is equally disappointing. He also does not hesitate to tell me how terrible my decisions are and always insists that we should stop and help every random bro despite us having worms in our heads that might kill us at any moment. This is a complete disconnect from his and everyone else's insistence that we find a healer as our top priority to avoid turning into monsters. I agreed with him and invited him to travel with me to aid in that purpose. And he hates me for it.

It seems that if you want to be on good terms with the wizard then you should be compassionate and help people in need. But then the two "strong" women hate you and are quick to remind you how worthless you are. Or if you want to be on good terms with the women then you have to be a dick.

I understand that there is a fifth party member out there somewhere. It's the dude in the loading screens with the succubus grinding on his leg while suckling at his ear. I can't say that I've put any effort into even looking for this one but I'm sure there will be some contrived reason to meet with him in the future.

The game starts out in a demon world with... imps and demons! Got it! Then while adventuring there are two demon-looking people that capture one of your lady "friends". She says she knows how to save my brain and these people look like demons and, as I have been encouraged to fight demons, I killed them. It turns out that not only is she (surprise?) ungrateful but I later find out that these people are not evil demons?

I've been out of the Forgotten Realms loop for a while now but supposedly there is some canon about a badass demon-looking race called tieflings that were added as a new race. Ok, cool. But this was not explained. Maybe my character knows the lore but as a player I did not. I just got through surviving through a literal hell only to encounter a settlement of what look just like my oppressors when in fact they're just a bunch of "nice guys". Also, they really are just a bunch of pansies that keep telling me over and over how they're not warriors and are afraid of goblins. This just does not read right and is confusing as hell. It adds no lore and is a very jarring transition as the first settlement I encounter. If you wanted a settlement of pansies then why not cast them as human farmers or fisherman? I already ran into a bunch of human fisherman corpses. I guess they're from some other town because they weren't tiefling corpses.

Even this non-aggressive undead guy that I brought back to life in some ruins gave off these compassionate vibes and reassured me that I would "meet him again" due to "fate". And then he gave me the same coy smile as the vampire love interest.

What is this game???

Everyone I've met so far is either a pansy or a judgmental asshole. Men always seem to have the hots for me and the women hate me.

From what I've read, the next place I get to visit is the Underdark. I'm really looking forward to my upcoming visit to this matriarchal society where I can anticipate being put down as both a human with pale skin and for being male.

Really loving this experience!

I have no enjoyed this dumpster fire of a game. The world is beautiful and had no much potential. If more effort would have been spent on core gameplay like adventuring and less on forced romance and shoehorning some overbearing backstory into every party member you meet, then maybe this game could have been average.

While trying to get a sense of what other people thought of this game, I read this conversation elsewhere on the forum:

Quote
Where is the skull crushing Dwarf, and where is the racist Orc hating Paladin?

And this is the first response:

The dwarf sounds hypermasculine, but the racist paladin is just a shitty person regardless of gender. You can have a super feminine paladin who hates dwarves.

Crushing skulls is hyper-masculine. Paladins are shitty people regardless of gender and hating orcs is racist. Wtffffff????

This game is pushing full on sex before you even reach level 2 like its candy. I feel violated just by playing this game. And every forced romantic coy grin reads like Larian reaching into my pants for shits and giggles. I wanted the badass high fantasy adventure with all the foul language and inappropriate social norms that the misery of trudging around in full plate in all weather conditions under the intense pressure to survive brings to the table.

This isn't Baldur's Gate. It's someone's sick romantic love fantasy SJW manifesto parading as an RPG.

I can't figure out whether this is inadvisedly-written feedback or simple flamebait but I don't see it going anywhere good, sorry.
