I'm not 100% sure that I'm not just missing something here, but if I am then it should be easier to find/figure out anyways.

As of right now mage hand seems pretty useless compared to it's uses in tabletop D&D. It can't pick up items to bring to the caster, it can't unlock doors/chests/etc. I really hope that these uses are implemented, mage hand is one of my favourite spells in the books.

It seems most useful as a little combat minion used to push dudes over/off stuff. Pre-casting one before a fight and it doesn't even eat up any action economy, it's just free shoves.

But I agree, the first character I played was a Wizard and one of the things I first tried to do was to Mage Hand something to myself and couldn't figure out how to do it if it's possible. I did discover you seem to be able to push goblins off cliffs though.

+1 Yes please, i was able to use Mage Hand in many utility ways (open, pull, push button, throw, trigger etc) during our tabletop sessions - never to shove or attack though, as others highlighted earlier posts there are other pushing/attack spells for that - and i would really like to have those utility options for Mage Hand in bg3 as well.
On the tutorial ship i wanted to use it to interact with the console without going too close to the enemies. It would be nice if this can be added (and maybe rewarded avoiding battle?)!

Always wanted my mage hand to be able to participate in discussions with NPC's. Just the simple usage of a certain finger in responding to a Goblin's threats would be so satisfying some days.

Well i heard Larian is planning to dig deep into social magic interactions during dialogues so nothing is impossible! I was working on a small textbook Unity game some years ago as a hobby project where you had a spell called Magic Slap. The plan was that an invisible hand slaps the person you are talking to and that reduces their attitude towards you and makes them say something angry or something like "what was that" or "please stop" and if you did that multiple times they would turn hostile. Larian likes crazy things so i dont see why not implementing something like that smile
