With all due respect. These are two different series. I look forward to a Divinity original sin 3 or whatever, but I want Baldur's Gate, 5E (as Larian stated) just using the current bg3 engine as it exists obviously as an evolution of the engine used for Divinity. Larian excels at turn based games. Not so much at story in my opinion (most of us loved divinity for the turn based combat, story was just Okay -no offense)- but so far BG3s story seems well done. It feels like there is too much of Divinity trying to get in the game, where I believe if you trust the 5e system, you guys just lean on your turn based expertise and writing a good reactive story with many permutations (Larian has been good at that also) - Examples include: disengage should never have been tied to jump, Every class shouldn't be able to disengage and attack in the same turn, shove should be an action, dipping a weapon is a zany Divinity trick, but it doesn't work in D&D, arrows should be counted, every goblin shouldn't have throwables, everyone shouldn't be able to use scrolls, etc. The setting, characters and story that is being told keeps me enthralled. The changing of the rules just doesn't need to be so. Trust 5e guys - honestly, it would probably make some of the work easier as its already been tested and balanced. And it does work in a videogame. Solasta proves this well (so tired of bringing that up...sorta) I agree when someone in a different post said that this seems like a reeeeeeally well done Divinity Original Sin 2 mod.
