I enter Bracus Rex Vault from the cave, after the first fight against its illusionary doubles I went to the vault in stealth mode, I encountered the illusionist and within the dialogue I opted for the destruction of his soul jar. I had some rewardas but no cursed ring.
My question is: to fight him is the only way to find said cursed ring and related quest?
Edit: find out where it is. If you stealth your way into the treasure room and peacefuly dispatch Trompdoy's soul the corpse with the ring will be found in the ruins just before the vault.
