So, first things first...
I bought the EA-Game with some reluctance, because I‘m not the biggest fan of Divinity Original Sin 1+2.
But since the Forgotten Realms/WotC is one of my favourite P&P Franchises and I loved Baldurs Gate 1+2, I wanted to be open minded and fair.
Gladly...Baldurs Gate 3 is (at least so far) nothing like Divinity. It really is the closest thing to D&D-P&P we have at the moment and focuses on the Player’s Freedom.
In Divinity I always felt, that the Game is focused on the Origin-Characters and left me with little, to create a living Background for my own character.
Not so in Baldurs Gate 3. Here the self generated Characters are the focus and the companions are more those obscure, shrouded in mysteries, people you meet along *your* Journey.
Also the general theme of the Game is more realistic and grim, which I realy love so far (especially the Underdark).

*But!*
There are things, that bother me and are kindoff anoying.
I won‘t mention the Bugs and Glitches, because they are so rare and more a EA-Problem.

1.) The biggest issue so far is (at least for me) the HUD and the Toolbar, which were just copied from DOS.
Every Item, Spell or Skill you get, are scrammed into the Toolbar and the player has to organize it by himself. just to see them get reorganized by the Game itself (Follow-up Skills like *Horde Breaker* and *speak to the dead*).
In those cases, the Game should follow the examples from Baldurs Gate 1+2 and Neverwinter Nights (a simple button to chose from one of your Spells/Skills). And adding a “Quiver-Chose-your-arrow-Button” would really make everything much easier.
Also...why adding throwable items to the toolbar, when they are also useable by clicking on the *Throw...* button?

2.) At least 2 mellee weapon slots.
Surely no mage should be able to wield 2 Quarterstaffs, but a Fighter, Ranger or Barbarian should have the option to quickchange their mainhand weapon, in order to adjust to the enemy weaknesses, without the need to go into the inventory and drag&drop the weapons (and again -> Baldurs Gate 1+2).

3.) *Force* the player to rest regualry, in Order to advance certain Plotscenes.
Personally I was able to play through the game so far, without the need to long-rest more than 3 times. Especially when I thought, that the long-rest gives you a disadvantage when handling the tadpole (time sensitive issue).

4.) Add a different layout/location for resting in different places, like the Underdark. Won’t change the dialogues or interactions, but greatly enhances the immersion of the game.

5.) Less, *less* things to read. Or at least present them in a more interesting way. Flashbacks or Voiceovers for important quest-related Books/letters.
And by the way... BG:EE added the possibility to copy important letters or papers into the journal, so they won’t take up all the space in your inventory.

6.) Something that really should be a general design for years: show all equiped weapons.
Pillars of Eternity had his flaws, but the design wasn’t one of it.
If somebody is using 2 sabers and a longbow, they should be shown at all times. If a mage uses a Staff and a throwing dart, they should be shown at all times.
Also...why isn’t the shield visible? EA-Miss?

Just the suggestions I thought are very important.

Of course...to change the Title and get rid of the “3”, and to abandon the Origin-Characters are still things I would like to see, but I try to stay realistic and make suggestions, that are still doable.

Happy to see the finished product and keep up the good work.

Going to start a new adventure, maybe with an half-drow mage. Curious how the “disguise self“ spell works into the Gameplay.
