One more polite appeal. Could the pathing on the spider familiar possibly be tweaked so that it *doesn't* keep leaping on top of you and inflicting 20+ points of damage on your ranger while you are innocently exploring?

(Temporary workaround: have the spider hide while you are exploring so that it doesn't follow you. Trouble is, then you have to remember to bring it over when combat commences, and even then it can, if you're not careful, still kerb-stomp you when it arrives.)

The first time this happened to me it was hilarious. It quickly grew old, but if you get the angle right, it is incredibly useful in combat...

But yes, I agree. I like the pathing/jumping changes on the whole, but if you have a spider friend any sort of elevation change can be anxiety-inducing. I played beastmaster on a second playthrough so was more familiar with the environment and just changed to the bird when exploring. Its measly one damage I could ignore.

I'll throw a +1 out for this.
My pet has killed me more than the mobs have at this point.

In my case, Astarion was busy making one of his famous snarky comments when BOOM !! My spider familiar made him all squishy.

That was one priceless moment.

I also learned that from then on, if I was doing any climbing I need to swap my spider for the raven until I finish the up/down stuff, and then swap back to spider-dude.

Planning to try and drop spider on a goblin or three next time I hit their camp.
