Are there ANY good one-handed swords in the game? I'd prefer to use one if I could, as I seem to be quite good at picking up fairly decent shields, but all of the ones that I can find will do at best about 20 less damage than the minimum of the various bastard swords that i keep picking up. I know that the stats for things are random, but I don't recall ever seeing a one-handed sword that did any better than about 20 to 48 damage, which just isn't cutting it for my warrior.

Yes, there are one handed swords. Long swords are one-handed. Some bastard swords are one handed (but most bastard swords are two-handed). I got my first one-handed sword (it was a bastard sword)after killing the white knight in the area outside of stormfist castle. I used it through about half the game. There are others. Be patient...you will find them.

The bastard sword had life drain and worked very well for me. I do not remember how much damage it did.

Best one handed swords are usaly holy sword and sword of the gods. But dont forget that the stas are RANDOM .

i have a [color:"#666666"]fierce bastard sword[/color] that does quite a bit more damage that the normal bastard sword
