I was browsing the Early Access FAQ and was reading through it very carefully. There was one amusing thing that frankly got me worried. It was the wording on the content released during EA and after release:

Anyone who has some knowledge about "corporate speak" knows that the text underlined should be a massive red flag!

We know that early access will end with act 1 complete, together with all game mechanics in place. BUT, we know next to nothing about the other acts and how the pricing model will be for them. They guaranteed that the base game AT RELEASE will be act 1 and everything that comes with it, but conveniently everything was left out regarding the other story content. As much as i'd like to give Larian the benefit of the doubt for making all story content post launch free, i don't do the same for WotC and their Hasbro overlords. (see the pricing models and the scummy things they do for D&D and especially MTG)

I seriously hope that i'm wrong here, and i hope to get some information or confirmation, that proves the opposite of what i'm fearing. Did Larian confirm that other story content will be free after i purchased the game, or will WotC force them to sell acts 2 and forawrd as "season pass" content? A confirmed source would be very welcome.

Sorry for creating a whole new thread for this, but this forum is hard to navigate without a dedicated search function.

I doubt players will have to pay for acts 2 and 3. If so, it’s the end of Larian. No one will buy another game from them. We will get a full game.

Here's hoping. I trust Larian and their own projects (which were crowdfunded so they were beholden only to the consumer). But i would never trust WotC (and by extention their Hasbro overlords) with even basic decency and honesty. If they can milk a new audience they will stop at nothing. That's why D&D and MTG are called "the best games made by the worst company" by their players.

1.0 is reference to the game version, not the Acts. Acts 1, 2, and 3 will be available as part of the "1.0" release.

The wording here might seem strange because I imagine, similarly to Divinity: Original Sin 2's Early Access, we will only be able to play Act 1 for the duration of Early Access, and the other Acts will be playable upon full release.

I get the cynicism but you're definitely wrong here. It's not going to be stated because this breeches the way full priced videogames just work in such a major way that the universe woul just explode if they didn't.

If acts 2 and 3 ever get made we're getting them. Full stop. End of. Not giving us acts 2 and 3 would be like Wizards not putting cards in MTG packs and then saying "we didn't say boosters were still going to have cards in them"

I think your too paranoid man. They are no Electronic Arts, I don't think they will be pushing this game as a service paying for each chapter. I am 99.5% sure that all acts will be included in the game. That is pretty standard for RPGS.
