Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks No Experience?

Spent half an hour fighting my way down to the third level of one of the dungeons in Act II. Found the frog statue and started my way back to the surface, cleaning up Citadel Rangers, Mages, and Mutants along the way. Then I noticed that I was no longer receiving any experience points after each skirmish and apparently had not been since entering the dungeon. Confirmed this on the way back to the merchant camp when attacked by more mutants. Experience-o-meter did not change until I turned the frog statue over to its owner. Anybody else experience something like this?

I think you gain experience in relation to your own level and that of the monsters you're fighting. If they're too low a level, compared to yours, you won't get any exp from them. Conversely, if your level's a lot lower you get much more exp.

I think Wordsmyth is right. It's certainly the way it worked in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> - and as it's a very good system, I doubt Larian have changed it.

yep a relative god like you can kill those weaklings in your sleep so no exp. so sorry. I dropped the battlefield in act 3 because i didnt get any experience worth mentioning out of it and I had all the money I need so no point in running around looking for valuables either.

Man, I must be an idiot. Didn't remember that detail from DD. Have been putting myself to needless risk (and burning up healing potions) for nothing. Guess I'll go straight to the bottom dungeon level from now on and not bother cleaning up the "riff-raff."
