Greetings. Being a TTRPGer since the 80's I am really enjoying BG3 and have a few ideas..

First is allowing us to change the color of the die/Dice being rolled. Give a sense of the die being yours and not some generic 'everyone has it' die.

Second is maybe adding the possibility of showing the rolls for lets say, damage. So instead of how it is not of just showing the damage points (as it is now), it can be like the D20 and show lets say 2d6 + 1d4. Now it will show 2 6 sided dice and on the side/below 1 4 sided die, and then you click the die/dice and they roll. Also it can be something to turn off/on in setting for those who do not like the die rolling/thinks it might slow down game play etc.

I would have to disagree, I think including dice rolls in combat like that would really take away some immersion of the battle, not to mention seem tedious very quickly. The different color dice is cool idea though, I would be all for that one 8)

On the topic of rolls:
I'm supportive of getting some of the information out of the combat log, into combat itself. What matters is that it would be quick and not slow down combat (sans clicks). The player already confirmed the attack with clicks, that should be the trigger to roll/show dice.

I think it'd be simplest to show the d20 outcome and the damage dice outcome as the attack animation plays. I'm also open to a quick animation where it's mostly the end of the dice roll. (What's important is that it can finish during the attack animation).

As for changing dice color:

That'd be a cool nice to have. Even if we had to wait until after release for dice colors, I'd enjoy it.

It'd be preferable to select dice color in character creation, I like making red-headed characters but with the d20 being red it can be too much red on screen. I've switched to green hair for elves, etc.

I actually think it should be an option we can turn on or off, choose to see dice rolling or just let RNG do its think in the background. Give a color wheel to the dice and when there is (dis)advantage roll 2 of them and take the higher or lower. Then again this would bea polish thing I would like to see closer to the end of development and focus more on the mechanics rn.

Hahah! Immersion in BG3.

I agree with OP - the less time I need to spend reading through combat log the better.

As to dice customization - I care not, but why not.
