Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Suggestions & Feedback So I have to ask, what is the ACTUAL use of Player Profiles?

Originally, I thought it was to organize your saved games. Rather than just a big mess of a list. Or to organize your characters. But that was a big fat no. So I have to wonder, I mean what is the actual use of Player Profiles? Is this something that just hasn't been fleshed out yet? Or is this WAI? The answer befuddles me.

Tbh I do use player profiles to organize my save games, since I often do different playthroughs simultaneously. And I think, you can apply different mods to different profiles, if you like to try out a bit (not that I'm using mods anymore in EA since tehy broke my game after patch 4).

Its good if you have a sibling that wants to play.

Yeah I am totally good with using mods, I am just giving it a week or two so they can catch up to patch 4. When I started playing, they had already announced patch 4 was coming, so I held off. Even with mods, I make a archived copy of the game folder, so if they do a patch, I delete my existing folder, and unpack the backup. That way I don't have to go through the nightmare of redownloading the entire game.

Yeah I was totally mistaken a particular point. I thought that even with a different profile, all the saves were visible for all the profiles. But it was actually because I had multiple characters in that single profile. If that makes sense. It was totally a brain fart on my part.
