I've done a runthrough of early access with a Thief, and I've found that solo'ing big fights is pretty easy (if tedious) with a stealthy character. I did the Spectator, Spider Queen, ect. all with bs stealthing tactics solo. Stealth. Shoot with bow. Hide. Rinse, repeat. If the terrain is good (heavily obscured) I can go in for melee sneak attack backstab, Jump (because Mobile is broken), run and hide. Rinse, repeat. Enemies will not look for you, will not turn around to face a different direction, even if they keep getting shot in the back with arrows.

Even having enemies turn around, face a random direction, would make this hit-and-run tactic more risky, because the detection cones would change. With a ranged weapon, there's no incentive to even bother retreating after each shot. And if mobile is fixed, you could theoretically backstab, step back 3 steps, backstab, repeat. Does anyone know if you can hide right behind the enemy after a backstab? I never tried it because it never occured to me that something that bs would actually work.

How dare you!? What's the point of "playing" that way? You're just cheating and taking all the excitement and joy out of the game. How can you look yourself in the mirror and live with what you see?

Shame on you, shame on you!

Yup. I cheese the game so you don't have to smile

All joking aside, stealth is massively overpowered. I was originally disappointed that rogues didn't get Expertise (also known as +2 to Stealth and Slight of Hand), but having played through early access, it doesn't seem necessary. I keep seeing posts of people complaining that rogues are weak, but I've found them to be gamebreaking.

1. Hit and run tactics mean that getting hit in combat is optional, or for when you forget to properly manage your bonus action.
2. Buying things is for schmucks. 5 finger discount means everything is free!
3. You can get all the skills. I did a Wood Elf rogue charlatan, which received proficiencies in Deception, Sleight of Hand, Stealth and Perception. Then I get to pick 4, and added Insight, Investigation, Acrobatics and Persuasion. I took the (broken) Mobile feat instead of Skilled, but if I had done the later I could have picked up History, Religion and Arcana to round out the majority of skills, leaving only Athletics, Performance, Animal Handling, Nature, Survival, Intimidation and Medicine that I wasn't pretty decent at.
4. With Mobile and a fast race like Wood Elf, plus Thief, two dashes and an attack is insane.

This stuff should probably be fixed before launch... Otherwise you'll end up with a solo class.

We have known since launch and they apparently don't care because it's a "feature" in their game.

BTW, the backstab abuse doesn't work because A.I. has close range area detection. So only for ranged attacks ( Such as over 9000 eldritch blasts, spells, any kind of projectile and throwables ). I haven't tested other gimmicky crap like casting darkness/clouds and hiding just a feet from the enemy though but you could test it yourself. I mean there's an insane amount of sillyness anyway.

There's nothing wrong with playing a game that way, and there's nothing wrong with Larian making a game that way. There is something very wrong, with making a DnD game that is supposed to use 5th edition rules play that way.

One of the exploits against Bulette is that you drop darkness by him as you do a stealth attack and he just stays there dumb doing nothing, because the AI is that bad.

Sin Tee uses the spore cloud for a fog, it gives him haste on top, and he basically kills Bulette in 2 turns while hasted and Bulette does nothing while he sits at its flank hitting it with dual wield flaming axe.

Stealth and consumables are straight up breaking the game. Oil of Sharpness, Invis pot, Potion of Hill Giant Strength and Spore Cloud is just busted. Dipping weapons in torches you drop is basically almost like a 30%+ damage boost at no cost other than the slight inconvenience of dropping down and picking up torches in between attacks.
