My biggest problem with the game is that after watching a forced cinematic (i.e., initial attack on Druid's Grove), depending on where you are standing when you trigger it, your character will go seemingly last in the turn order, and will sometimes get aggro'ed/blown up (>game over) before you can do anything. This is particularly easy to tell when you are solo party, lvl 1, low HP character.
It is very annoying, because you can be a mile away, but due to ranged attacks if your (lvl1) character is too low in HP, it can be 1-shot out of the game. An alternative solution in the case above would to simply shield the player(party) from being AI targeted in the first turn of combat, so that the goblin army focuses on the gate not you. They technically get to keep initiative, then. Regardless.
IDK about 5e rulesets in this regard, but the idea that you are just standing there spectating a combat situation between 3rd-parties while doing nothing, is a bit of a stretch nonetheless. Granted, there are cases that this may be warranted if you are talking to someone directly and fail a dice roll, but me rollin' into the druid grove via nasty surprise for the first time was a bit of a shock, notwithstanding.
Relatedly, this also occurs when zoning into a new map throughout the game. Additionally, some waypoints are rendered worthless because you port right into the middle of aggro field. The locations of waypoints need to be placed away from mobs, with a load-in "safe zone", so that you can actually use them for their intended fast travel purpose (>without auto-pull 20+ mobs of Goblin Camp). Preferably, this would be true of all indoor load-in areas, nonetheless.
