I think it could be really interesting should we be able to scout as a druid squirrel and not auto engage nearby enemies or create some interesting dialogue options shapeshifting into a cow and meandering slowly towards a group of confused bandits.
Food for thought.

Agreed. Scouting is 90% of what Wild Shape is used for in PnP D&D games I play. Turn into an insect or spider or other small critter and go investigate the enemy's base. I mean, maybe Goblins and carnivorous animals would attack a squirrel, but many enemies wouldn't.
However, it would be kind of redundant in BG3 as the game is now, given that you can just move your camera to scout enemy positions.

I keep hope for conversations in animal form ...
Yes, i know we cannot talk (we should be able to at least talk with druids tho), but that is not only interaction we can have with others.

Minimaly i hope for something like this:
*harmless animal, cat for example ... obviously would not work for wolf ... approaches NPC*
NPC yells "Shoo!"
1) Walk away.
2) [Performance] While you maintain eye contact, you meow. > If sucess you get some threat a fish for example.
3) You take another step.

And in my wildest dreams i hope at least some NPC will take that Cat in his arms and pet him ...
So Cat can turn into bear/ox/giant badger/druid ... and start fight with enemies surprised and this one knocked prone. :3

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown
