Other than the Githyanki Half-Plate you can scavenge off of Lae'zel (I killed her), is there any in game drop of full plate or magical half-plate.

I've pretty much looked at nothing else but BG3 content since October, and no one I've seen has found plate armor yet.

But Scale +1 or Gith Half-Plate plus a shield plus a spell will get your tanks to 21 AC, which is more than enough to survive most battles in EA.

PS: you could also just take Lae'zel as a companion then remove her armour, if you were less violently inclined.

Non-gith half plates, breastplates, splint mail, plate mail, cooler studded leather.. metal shields... clothing options for casters and camping. I hope they add more soon, everyone looks the same in EA so far.

Currently there are no plate armors in the game, however they are in the game files. Many of them were unfinished and lacked certain elements.

I'll repost my armor thoughts, as I do in every post that mentions armor:

The armor we get in BG3 is totally wack. Larian seems to believe that heavy armor should be reserved for later levels, whereas top-tier (even magical) light armor can be given out early. This is wrong. Each category of armor has different tiers within that category, and we should gain access to the same tiers of different armors at the same time.
Roughly:
Tier 1 (level 1 characters): Padded/Leather (Light), Hide/Chain Shirt (Medium), Ring/Chain Mail (Heavy)
Tier 2 (levels ~2-3): Studded Leather (Light), Scale Mail/Breastplate (Medium), Splint (Heavy)
Tier 3 (levels ~3-5): Drow Leather/Studded Leather +1, Half-Plate (Medium), Plate (Heavy)
Tier 4+ (levels 6+): Increasingly magical items of each armor category.
Importantly, FIGHTERS AND PALADINS SHOULD (have the option to) START OUT WITH CHAIN MAIL

And any Cleric Domains that start with Heavy Armor, as in the Life and War Domains.
