Running 1.44, after encountering "Imp Hero" in the village after giving him the spider leg in the forest, the dialog amongst the imps proceeds, I tell him to see his wife, the chatter continues, it ends, and...the interface never comes back. No cursor, no character portraits, if I hit escape, the main menu appears, but Save is grayed out. Most of the keys work, I can open the Skills window, the Inventory window, etc, but no movement and no selection within the windows (no cursor).

Many curses have been uttered, I've tried doing other quests in between, but whenever I trigger that event, boom!

Try leaving one character on the opposite side of the village and talking to the imp with the other. Someone else found that this got them past the hanging cut scene with the imp hero.

I'm glad to see someone found a solution to this. I hate not being able to finish quests. It makes me not want to play.

Same here, never got the option to ask him to go to his wife. But I always presumed there was another imp hero maybe...

If you talk to his wife (house north of alchemist's house), can you then go sent him home?

Try closing the dialogue window instead of clicking the ('1. Continue') or whatever in the dialogue tree. That caused the imp hero to speak his next line instead of hanging the game for me.

fox, try Salviati's trick (post just above yours) of simply closing the dialog box before ending the conversation. this is what worked for me.
you already know what's said, so no loss there.
let us know if you still have problems.

Yup, I tried closing the dialog box like Salviati suggested but no good, so I reloaded and tried what Raze suggested and left my Deathknight down the road a bit and everything ran smoothly. Thanks all
