So I have now successfully played through as both Good and Evil Ironman Mode. Evil was Drow Rogue and Good oddly enough was a Tiefling Warlock. The main difference that I came across other than story elements and playstyle was that by going evil you effectively knock out any need/reason to go to the Underdark. As far as I have been able to tell on the Evil side there is nothing that sends you there. That might have to do with successfully rocking Minthara's world. I suppose that if you failed in accomplishing that you would have to go that route. By bedding her my Drow is now able to take the land route to the towers rather than trying to slog through the Underdark. But that also costs me 2 possible companions as well... big ouch there. Didn't help that I lost a 3rd to the monster hunter because I didn't know what was going on. Didn't encounter him on my good side playthrough.

I think that there needs to be something that still sends the Evil path tot he Underdark, even if only say the front half so as to not effectively eliminate an entire area of XP from killing and quests. Otherwise you will have inferior Evil heroes comparatively speaking to their counterparts at the same point in the story. Granted it hasn't been released yet but maybe the overland path will have some combat and quests to help match this up?

Theoretically, there may be the same amount of XP in the land route as in the Underdark?

What about the Nightsong? Search for powerful items, allies and wealth? The Underdark has a TON of power and wealth items.

Arcane Tower
Kuo-Toa
Spectator Beholder
Ormeluum the Mindflayer
2 vendors In Myconid village
The Only Purple item in game right now - also in Myconid village
Bullet
Hook Horror encounter
Boots of Speed!

Again I point out what I had said. There is nothing Story wise that pushes you in that direction. There is the whole "For Honor and Glory" bit but otherwise you are sent over the land to get to the same Towers led by a Drider. ( My guess based on the dialogue with Minthara ). You wouldnt even really know that the Underdark exists depending on some of your dialogue choices with a few Goblins as they mention prisoners being taken.

The other problem of XP capping before you ever reach the Undedark is a separate issue as the main topic was the difference in paths when you go Good vs Evil.
