This would be for full release. Half Drow Sorcerer 8/ Thief 4. You get 2 bonus actions with a Thief's Fast Hands feature, so take Quicken Spell. Now you get 3 Spell castings or 2 Spells and 1 Sneak Attack per round. If Shadow Sorcerer is in or modded in, now you've got a Hound of Ill Omen to lower the enemy's save, Quicken Hypnotic Pattern and Hold Person would be nasty. Comments? Ideas?

if you cast any spell using a bonus action, then the only other spell that can be cast that turn is a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action. Pg 202 PHB

Additionally even as Thief Archetype and Cunning action with fast hands you are limited to Disengage, Dash, Hide, Sleight of Hands check, and to use an object (Pg 97 PHB)

Sorry, I don't mean to ruin your fun. Its an interesting build concept but tables and groups have been nearly ruined by this sort of thing. The only way I know you can actually do multiple spells per turn is to cast Time Stop. Even the Haste spell doesn't allow or is not supposed to allow a second spell to be cast, it just allows a second physical attack to be made.

@Blackheifer, you're correct according to 5e RAW, but not necessarily according to BG3 rules.

I wouldn't be surprised if @Merlex's suggestion will be possible. Currently in BG3, I believe you can use both bonus actions to attack (?) and cast both a bonus-action and standard-action spell in the same turn (?). Idk if this has been changed since I last played or I'm remembering incorrectly...

Alternatively, it's likely that Quicken might be implemented similar to Sneak Attack, with a dedicated icon that is usable only once per turn.

Personally, I am hoping Thief becomes much closer to DnD RAW because it would show that a lot of issues like disengage have been fixed.
So while you have a cool concept, it would be dashed if my hopes come to fruition.

Oh I know the 5e rules, but that's not how Larian has been playing it. My Wizards have been able to cast Misty Step, a bonus action spell, and a spell that uses an action in the same round. Furthermore, Larian's use of Fast Hands has been an extra bonus action.

Well in that case, one bonus action: Hound of Ill Omen, second bonus action: Quickened Hypnotic Pattern, action: spell that uses an action or Sneak Attack

Personally I hope they leave Fast Hands the way it is. Though not for the cheese build I came up with. I'm all for fixing Cunning Action in BG3. But the 5e Thief subclass is pretty weak compared to other Rogue archetypes. It's features should of been standard for Rogues.
